Sick but not an emergency My 11 year old yorkie has a spot on her eyelid that we thought was just a sty. It is now filled with pus and bleeds when we clean it. Any idea what it is or what we can do to treat it? Thank you, Scubie |
I don't. After a certain age, like people, doggies just start to grow things in inconvenient places. I'd get her into the vet and get it off if possible as soon as I could. Even if it is on the outside of the lid, eyelid growths can cause pressure and hurt and of course it's possible it needs a biopsy. |
Oh we are going to take her to the vet. I was just curious if there was something I could do in the mean time or if trying to clean it with a warm rag was the right thing to do. Thank you, Scubie |

Warm compresses will help it drain and a vet appointment is definitely in order. |
all better Princess' eye is much better, It was an infection from a hair getting her eye. We are continuing the warm compresses and it is almost all gone. |
So glad to hear that Princess's eye is doing better. |
