Is This Hiccup? Or something else? I recorded my Yorkie doing this earlier. What is he doing? Is that hiccups or is he sick? Can someone please tell me if you have seen this? Much appreciated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itTAiPt0IN0 |
Is there any noise? It kind of looks like he's trying to vomit and then swallowing it back down. Is he interested in food? If not, he might has an upset tummy. |
He is jerking kinda like hiccups but not sure. That tongue looks like he is having trouble swallowing, like maybe a hair in his throat or something..? |

He did eat this morning...he is never really really interested in food as he is really picky. |
Could be acid reflux, they hiccup just like we do. |
I agree with Nancy1999, he appears to vomiting and then swallowing it back down. Yazmin hiccups often, especially after gobbling treats. Her upper chest will jump or make a jerking motion like a human does, along with a hiccuping sound. |
It looks like something my dogs do if they eat too fast, Joel did something like that last night but he just swallowed about 3 times. He's really cute, at the end of the vid it looks like he's saying "Oh shoot, mom! Your recordind this!"lol |
Since hiccups are a form of indigestion, I would agree that it could be some reflux going on. Try changing foods & talk to your vet about meds for indigestion. |
A raised feeding bowl is the foremost cure for a dog with instant reflux. Some breeders are specifying their dog must be adopted to people who will use them (mini schnauzer). A properly sized raised feeder will keep the dogs neck level face down is okay. A water bottle is also extremely useful with reflux. Also kept at a neck level or slightly upward height. Grainfree is a possible acid reflux aiding food change. I swear by apple cider vinegar for so many bennefits. However new research shows the red golden deliciius apples cure acid reflux due to acid production. About a quarter apple cut up and fed through the day with food. |

I can find some I'm sure our pediatrician told me at my son's last appointment after he went to a convention that included nutricianal remedies. Heres a ton of links from a google search http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...reflux&spell=1 |

True and the conference while medical he was refering to information a pediatric nutricialist was sharing. Not sure if there was a study or how it was presented. I can say that it really helped my son to eat a red delious. No more reflux issue in him and an apple a day can't do harm. He refused ACV and I didn't want to give him pecid so it was the alternative our pediatricians offered. |
