Gizmo needs his heartworm test anyway, but the poor little dude was up all night coughing up stuff. I'm on 2 hours of sleep, but I'm worried about my little man. He's also being very cuddly which tells me he's not feel well.

Wondering if he picked something up at doggy daycare. :(

sorry to hear your little man isn't feeling well.....if he goes to day care...maybe kennel cough? hope all turns out ok

Taryn Im sorry to hear Gizmo is coughing. Im keeping him in my good thoughts today that he has just picked up a little cold or something

It's doggy bronchitis. My vet was happy that I brought him in because he could hear in Gizzy lungs him beginning to wheeze which can turn into pneumonia quickly. Gizmo is on a round of antibiotics, and I have to bring him in the bathroom with me when I shower so he can inhale some steam, and pat on his sides to break anything up.

My boss was livid that I didn't come into work, so my vet rolled his eyes and put on the discharge that supervision for the first day is mandatory. :rolleyes:

I'm sorry, but if my dog is having problems breathing and coughing/gagging up stuff, then I'm staying home. Thanks ladies for the prayers! Little guy just ate some food, got his antibiotic and is sound asleep on his heating pad and cloud 9.

Sorry your little guy is under the weather but happy to hear that he is back on his way to recovery.

Did the vet determine if this was caused by a virus that could have been transfers by another dog at doggy day care?

That's what the vet wondered as well. He asked how many times Giz goes to daycare and kind of mulled it over. Thankfully, he didn't have a fever, and his heart sounded good. So, he gave us some clavamox and the shower steam instructions, and we'll be going from there.

Gizmo isn't a cuddle buddy, but he really has been lately. Poor Monkeyman :(

Im glad you got Gizmo right in and I know you are too. Your boss didnt sound like the type of person with alot of compassion anyway oh well you wont be dealing with him for very much longer. Im glad your vet wrote you an excuse. Im keeping little Gizmo in my good thoughts and prayers that the meds kick in soon and give him relief from the coughing and chest congestion

Glad you were on top of it!!! I hope the antibiotics clears it right up. If Brody ever had to go in the bathroom with me when I shower, he'd try to jump right in the tub! I didn't close the door all the way once, and sure enough paws were on the tub!! So, keep an eye out for Gizmo's paws :D

Prayers that Gizmo gets better soon. I know I get the "rolled eyes" if I take time off to take of Presley during his Pancreatic attacks which happen about once a year. I'm like screw you. I've got the time. Who cares what I choose to spend it on. The only one who can take care of your baby properly is you.

It's amazing how much they are like us in so many ways. He needs his mama' , Enjoy your shower with your new shower buddy ! :D

I've heard of showering with a "friend" to save water, but this is ridiculous! :rolleyes::p
