throw up everymorning? ok, lately my 4month old Bruno has been throwing up early in the am..Its been like foamy, but very yellow liquid...Its not alot, then after he gags it out he is fine, back to playful self...I did mention this to vet at out last visit, but he did not seem concerned...I wonder what can cause this? its usually only in the am, before he eats ...i feed him royal canin for puppy...I do occasionally give him boiled chicken and cherrioes for treats...does this happen to anyone else puppy? should i be concerned?..... |
he may be hungry and it is causing him to get sick. just a thought but maybe a healthy later night snack might help to reduce his stomach issues in the morning. |

There are two dogs here that will do this from time to time. I began feeding them 8 to 9 am,a snack during the day (usually a BB cookie),sometimes a carrot stick when I am cooking dinner and then they eat their last meal around 8 in the evening. If I feed them their dinner to soon in the evening they cannt make it all the way to breakfast. When Mina was growing alot,she just needed more calories during the day. |
Doing this occasionally may be normal but on a daily basis is not normal. The yellow he is vomiting is bile that comes from the liver. Sometimes the liver will secrete additional bile when there is a problem with digestion. I can't tell you what he is having an issue with. It could be his food or it could be treats you are giving him. I would watch this carefully if it get worse speak to your vet again. |

Emy does that too....not every morning, but she throws up that yellow stuff, and then goes right over to her food and starts eating....I'm trying to narrow it down, cause I give her a bully stick for about an hour in the morning, then I take it away from her, I put it in the refrigerator. I'm trying to see if there's a correlation or not....though yesterday she had her bully stick and this morning she was perfectly fine.....she finishes her food about 5:00 pm, she likes to eat her food when we are eating dinner....so maybe I'll give her a few kibbles of her food in her dish right before we go to bed, though she might not eat it or be hungry, she'll eat a treat though....its not something that happens regularly the throwup....just every now and again, so maybe her stomach is empty.... |
13 hours is probably just to long for him. I'd try either feeding him a little later at night or earlier in the morning, maybe both. I've never had problems with Yumi doing this, but Yuri did it a lot as a puppy. He was always a crazy picky eater, so even leaving kibble down for him, he would refuse to eat it and end up sick. Yumi on the other hand has only puked up bile a few times, and it was full of Yuri fur from when he started shedding this spring/summer |
Ziva still does this if she is being picky about her dinner and I forget to give her a latenight snack. Also happens if she eats to many green beans the day before.(3 is ok 5 is too many) |
I think I'd talk to the vet about this. I don't think it's normal. |
My yorkie Kagan did this most of her life she passed away a few years ago. When she did this I noticed it would help if I gave her something like bread which helps to absorb the acids in her stomach which lessoned the occurances also if she ever had loose poos I gave her a slice of bread and it really helped :) |

It is not normal as a daily thing. Being a little puppy the vet may have thought it was something minor that the pup was having trouble adjusting to a new food. Something that happens as a daily occurrence over a period of time is not normal. If feeding a small amount of food before bedtime does not help then it needs to be taken up with the vet. The liver should not be over producing bile as a regular thing and bile can be very destructive to the stomach lining over time. Possibly there is something in the food that does not agree with his particular digestive system but that is only a guess. I'd check the fat level of his food first. Certainly you don't want this to go on over a long period of time. |
This has been a common problem on here over the Yrs witH some dogs. Since your vet wasnt concerned I would try to feed a little snack before bedtime and see if that solves it if it doesnt than its best to bring it back to your vets attention |

thank you everybody for your input...i may have exaggerated a bit ...its not every-morning but maybe like 3 to 4 times a week...maybe it is because of an empty stomach...i will start giving him a late night snack cuz he is very active and playful till about 10.00pm...i tried blue buffalo and went back to royal canin because he didnt like it..he does tend to be finicky and sometimes doesnt eat alot...if i would give him chicken all day he would it eat cuz he is crazy for it!!!! if it continues i will address it to the vet...i have the pee pads saved with his vomit on it to show him.....thank you everybody...i hope its nothing and that he's ok...he is the love of my life!!!xoxo |

My baby did the same thing for a while. Like some of the other members mentioned, try giving her a small snack right before going to bed. That worked wonders for Rylee. In fact, just this past Tuesday night, I couldnt let her have a snack before bedtime because she was having a procedure done at the vet the following day. Sure enough, about 3am she threw up. |
Dinky did this too. The vet advised us to give him a small amount of food, maybe a level tablespoonful. It works great. Occassionally, he just won't eat and when his tummy is too empty, he will throw up the yellow bile. In his case, it was just the empty tummy! |
Sounds like a hungry tum to me. I left some kibble for my girls for overnight when they were small cause I was afraid of low blood sugar. Might be an Idea to leave a little food out and see if this works. Didn't cause any problems with toileting in case you wondered. |
