pulling my hair out now!!!!! Tia had to stay in the hospital because she was bringing up foam and had blood in her poo. They suspected pancrititis.they done the blood work which seemed useless because they said mild pancrititis wouldnt show up in the tests so we cant rule that out. However another week of meds , this has been going on now for 3 weeks and at 4am this morning yet again she is throwing up again. waiting results for her poo samples but she thinks they will be negative. They have put her on a special diet of royal canine intestinal as they suspect she has an allergy to her regular food!( 4 years she has been on her regular food)I dont think theve got a clue , sorry to rant but my poor little girl is having meds chucked down her throat , denied any treats and the food she loves and is still bringing up foam. any ideas? |
I don't have anything to offer in ways of medical opinions, but want you to know I will pray for you and your little Tia. Sending you strength, and Tia a gentle hug. This must be so hard for you both :( I'm so sorry she isn't well and you have no answers. I will keep checking back for updates and hopefully good news. Bumping so hopefully someone else may be of better help to you! |
thank you so much, well we are back to not eating and not drinking again today and her tummy is so noisy again, prob back in the hospital next week |
Does she get a bit of food just before bedtime? Sometimes Yorkies will vomit foam in the morning from an empty stomach. What kinds of treats was she getting before she became sick? Small tinges of blood in the poo can come from almost any kind of intestinal upset. including parasites, bacterial overgrowth and others. Dogs can all of a sudden develope allergies to foods or things they've been on or around for years. Hope she's feeling better soon and your vet finds out what's going on with her.... |
Sometimes Alfie vomits up foamy stuff when too much acid builds up from not eating and the noises coming from his stomach are awful. He also had the runny poo and occasional blood in poo but my vet said that it was because the acid was building up and his intestines had got inflammed from this. I usually give him a little peptobismal and it calms it down. boiled chicken and rice with the starch left in also seems to help. How long has this being going on with your little one? What type of food to you feed? I hope you get to the bottom of this and your little one is on the mend soon. |
Hope your baby starts feeling better soon |
Oh no, I'm so sorry your sweetie is sick. I don't have any advice on this, no experience...but could you consult another vet, since they give give you any answers. Maybe more testing is warranted, just thinking out loud. Hugs to you both. |
I hope Tia starts feeling better soon. |
