Second Surgery for those of you who don't know about Dee's surgery: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...a-surgery.html Took her see the surgeon today after noticing her favoring one of her legs. Turns out she will need surgery to correct her left leg (the one she wasn't bearing much weight on). The right one looks like it's healing well at this point. The ligament in the left had stretched too much and needs to be corrected. He said he won't know the extend of damage until he actually gets in there. To have to go through this all again kills me. The only good thing is it's not both of her legs. I can only blame myself for this. I thought i was confining her well enough but it's true when they say it only takes one 'oops' to reverse it all. I firmly believe that's what happened. I would hate to put the blame on the surgeon. Maybe i could have found a better surgeon but if i can't follow the post-op directions to a T then it doesn't matter if i had the best surgeon in the country..they can only do so much. I would tell anyone reading this who is going through LP or ACL post-op..take all precautions and then some. Don't let your dog out of your sight for a second. I will update after her surgery. If anyone has gone through the surgery a second time..please let me know. |
Oh, no, am so sorry to read Dee will need another surgery! She will sure be in my prayers. And you try to keep your chin up. I know it is going to be a long haul. |
I'm so sorry! I was hoping she was healing in both legs just fine. Let us know how things go. I'll keep her in my prayers. She's so precious. I can imagine how hard it will be to go through this again and how sad you must be. |
oh no, so sorry that she will be having to go thru this all over again. Hope all goes well and she heals quickly and properly. Hugs. |

Dee's surgery is done (hopefully for good this time!). She seems to be in more pain this time than last. She had a soft whimper most of the night and shivers. She was very alert given the day she had. She couldn't get comfortable though. She tries to move but ends up just going in circles on her butt. I think the longest she stayed sleeping in one spot was about an hour last night. She just went potty this afternoon, not much of an appetite yet. She did eat a little last night though, and drank plenty of water. Cast will probably come off on Monday. Thanks for all who have commented, it means alot :) |

AWWW Poor baby, her cast looks so big. Prayers for a speedy and safe recovery for Miss Dee. |
Bless her heart! I hope she will have a better night tonight. I'm sure you didn't get much sleep either. I hope you both have a better night tonight. Keeping her in my prayers for an uneventful recovery this time. |
