Yorkie ill Hello, i purchased a Yorkie back in March, she was five months old, when we got her she was very larthargic so we brought her to vet, turns out she had the flu and was in the hospital for a few days, Since then she has been fine, until last night, all of a sudden she is very blah, i dont know why, she is eating a bit and is drinking, she is just not her fun self, Thought it could be the heat, but she hasnt been outside much and is in the air conditioned house, was thinking she may be going into heat? We have her scheduled to be spayed in a few weeks. Should I be worried? |
Is she showing any other symptoms? Shaking? Using the bathroom? The problem with Yorkies is that they go down so quickly. If she is not acting normal soon I would get her in to the vet. |
Check her little private area if she is swollen there it is most likely that she is coming into her heat. |
You can also try to give her a little supplement called "nutrycal" and see if she will be a little more active. I would also check her private areas like it was suggested and see if there is any changes. Also, have you called the breeder or another experienced yorkie owner for advice or the vet's office? Has she eaten anything out of the ordinary? been around unknown dogs? Hope you will figure it all out soon. |
Thank you! Thank you everyone. She is FINE! Seemed to be a 18 hour thing, she was back to her old self. She just seemed tired,or maybe she ate something not agreeing with her, I try not to give her table food.FYI my vet told me Pork and steak, worse things to give yorkies, not good for them she told me. She does go in yard, in a confined area, so I have to watch what she is chewing on Thank you for all your support. She is my first yorkie and i LOVE her to death! She is only 4.3 lbs and 8 months old. Trying to just potty train still and she still does the little biting seems to be teething type biting, Any suggestions? I am signing her up for some trianing classes with me soon. I have to learn to post a picture of her, |
