Plz keep Happy in your prayers Happy was not well this sunday. When I took him out of crate, I saw that he had vomited. Later, I observed that his gums were pale and I gave him some drops of honey. He was lively again. Later I gave him a bath and brushed his teeth. He was as usual when we went to the park that evening. But when we returned he was not the same. He wont eat his regular BB Freedom for puppy  I gave him some treats to fill his tummy since I dint wanted him to get hypoglycaemic again. Even on monday he was not willing to eat. Luckily I had his past food RC and Puppy Chow. He ate few kibbles of Puppy chow. I thought something is wrong and rushed to VET. VET said everything is fine with Happy and said that he would be conducting blood tests. He said it might be a case of LIVER SHUNT  I will be getting reports tomorrow at 10AM. I hope Happy will be fine. Please keep Happy in your prayers. Also, does anybody have experienced above issue with your furbabies? |
Praying for good results for Happy... Liver Shunt is common in Yorkies as a breed. Nutrical is best for managing hypoglycemia... honey is not pasteurized and contains a bacteria that can be harmful in young pups. Pancake syrup is even better than honey till you can get some Nutrical. |
Thanks for reply. I checked regarding NutriCal in petsmart in Burnaby BC, but they said that it has been discontinued. I will check with my vet tomorrow. Hoping that Happy`s results will be fine. |
Oh my gosh, I will be thinking of Happy. I hope he starts feeling better soon... Please update us when you get the reports back. Side note, I love seeing people from B.C. on here :) My DH is from Langley, and we visit often (going up again in two days). You should be able to get some nutrical online if you can't get any from your vet. Good luck! |
Prayers are being sent for your baby during this scary time. Please let us know what the doctor says. Hugs! |
Praying for Happy and you. Louise |
Praying for Happy! Hope all is better today. |
I had taken Happy to VET yesterday for blood report. VET told that he had an increase in liver enzymes and suggested Bile Acid Test. Today I got a call from VET they said that liver enzymes of Happy is 12 and it should be 7 normally. His liver enzymes are slightly high. VET suggested to do another BAT after 4 hrs of Happy eating food in order to get a clear picture. It is turning out to be scary now :( |
Sending good thoughts out for Happy. |
Thank you all for the prayers and wishes. But I have one question for which I am not finding any answer. The symptoms of LS include, Stupor Vomiting Diarrhoea Lethargy and in extreme cases I have read that furbabies had seizures. But Happy is active, he plays. Touch wood! He does not have either diarrhoea or vomiting. I am not sure what is happening :( |
Sending prayes and well wishes for Happy. Hugs to your sweet baby. |
Just back from VET. The VET suggested to get ultrasound done for Happy. After the ultrasound was completed, the VET confirmed that there is no liver shunt for Happy :) and he is having some gastric issues. The VET had already put him on IV before ultrasound. So we left him at VET for tonight. Now waiting for tomorrow morning to bring 'Happy'ness back to our lives! THANK YOU ALL FOR THE WISHES AND PRAYERS |
