anal glands When I had Khloe to the vet this morning. He said her anal glands were also impacted and he expressed them. Will this mean she will need to have hers expressed manually often? I am hoping this is because I changed her diet and she isn't having firm stools yet. |
It could be the food change, also anal gland problems can be associated with allergies. How is her skin & ears ? The food could be causing a slight allergy. I would have them check her bum again in 3 or 4 wks to see how they are & if they need expressed. |
Our groomer expresses Georgie's anal glands. I have heard you can do it yourself but there is no way I would. I agree with Lillymae check her bum in 3-4 weeks to see how she looks....the fun of motherhood;) |
Hi , my shih tzu was having a problem with anal glands . Had to go to the vet every month to have them expressed. After trying several foods i found one that agreed with her and gave her nice firm stools , also putting her benadryl for allergies. So far she has not had to go to the vet , going on 4 months... |
Thanks she is constantly scratching especially her ears. She goes back to the vet on Monday and I am going to mention it to him again |
I have my vet express Couver's anal glands when I notice they are bothering him. He usually starts scooting or licking and I take him in. He only needs his expressed a few times a year, so I just keep an eye on them... and he tells me when they are bugging him. |
chester needs done several times a year, I feed him a food that is least 4% fiber, that will help |
My Marcie lets me know when she needs them done. I usually do the task. |
