Sick yorkie! please help! Hello! this is my first thread ever... i'm not even sure if i'm doing it correctly.lets just hope i can post it. my 2 year old yorkie has been vomiting for 2 days. He still has an appetite and is ALWAYS looking for something to eat. however he eats then throws it all up! yesterday i did not give him food only water. and he threw up yellowish foam. he seems tired but still tries to play and pretty much acts normal. i will appreciate any feedback !!! |
I suggest you take him to a vet. These little ones can go downhill quickly. |

"Vomiting for 2 days", "eats but throws it all up","seems tired but still tries to play" .....these are your cues to head to the vet! |
Yup call your vet. Don't think he is fine something is wrong |
If my dog vomits twice or has a second stool of running diarrhea, I am at the vet so if it is anything bad, we can catch it as early as possible. I'd much rather pay the vet needlessly than lose what could be valuable time if something awful is causing it. Plus, that way, Tibbe never has to lose much in the way of fluids. |
I think the yellow foam is stomach bile and that is what they throw up on an empty stomach. Did you try a bland boiled chicken and rice diet? Small portions a few times a day. If he can't keep that down at all then you need to see the vet. dehydration can happen very quickly. Do you have nutrical? It's like a vitamin gel that helps keep their blood sugar up. If he acts tired in addition to throwing up then he needs medical support for sure. You said he is always looking for things to eat. What "things" are you giving him? |

I called my vet that same day and he advised me to give him pedialyte and to give him boiled chicken. he's doing alot better now. it might have been something he ate that didnt agree with his stomach. also, what i meant by "looking for things to eat" i meant food.lol. he is ALWAYS looking for food to eat, like he's always hungry! |
thanks Everyone for all your responses!! :) I called my vet that same day and advised me to give him pedialyte and a little bit of pepto bismol. he is now back to normal! thank god!! |
I am quite surprised that your vet did not suggest you come in with a pup that was vomiting for two days. Happy to hear that all is well. :) |
