Benadryl my baby has been itching for a couple of days now. she doesnt have any fleas or ticks so i bought her some benadryl to see if it works but dont know how much to give her. |
anybody please!!!!!! |
I bet if you call your nearest emergency vet they will give you the dose. |
Yes, please check with your vet. I give Romeo Children's Benadryl (tabs). Because of his weight (15.3 lbs), I give him 1/2 tab 2x a day. Again, you need to check with your vet because you have to take dosage and weight into consideration before administering to your baby. |
thank you so much ladies :) |
You may find it in here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/eme...g-dosages.html |
I think it is 1 ml per every pound, will have to double check. |

The dosage for benadryl is 1 to 2 mg/pound (usually closer to 1mg/pound). 1ml per pound is a very high dose. Unless it's an emergency, I would let the vet figure a dose for your pup (and not all vets like it for allergies). The pills are pretty easy for dosing. The liquid requires some calculations. It's best if the vet does it. |
The vet who gives my Huckie his vaccines gave me a helpful piece of paper for how much aspirin and benedryl a dog can have. For Benedryl: 1 adult tablet or capsule equals 25mg 1 tsp liquid equals 12.5mg 1tsp = 5cc or 5ml 1-5lb 5mg = 1/2 tsp children's syrup 2-3x's daily as needed 10lbs 10mg = 1 tsp children's syrup or 1/2 adult tablet 2-3x's daily as needed 15lbs 15mg = 1 1/2 tsp or 1/2 adult tablet 2-3x's daily as needed 20-30lbs 25mg = 2tsp children's syrup or 1 adult tablet 2-3x's daily as needed Hopefully this helps! |
I looked it up on the internet and it is 1/2 to 1 mg per lb, depending on what site you look up |
