possible lyme disease? OK so after bathing my morkie Roxy today I noticed this red mark by her hind leg. Its not open or sore nor does it bother her when I touch it and stuff. I'm wondering if it looks like the typical Lyme tick bullseye mark. I'm going to take her to the vet if it looks worse tomorrow. Not sure how long it even was there. But again there is no surface opening to it. All the red is under the skin surface. Any ideas what elese it could be? http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...322-214614.png http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...322_214538.jpg |
It looks more like ring worm but there are others on here much more experienced than I am. Is she lethargic or acting different? Lyme disease tends to do that. |
No she's fine. Eating drinking running around like a typical crazy puppy. |
OK good it really looks like ring worm but again there are others more versed in all things Yorkie:) I do know the symptoms of Lyme disease and she doesn't sound like she has them. Our Boxer had Lyme disease and she was very lethargic and her appetite changed completely. Here is a link with info. Lyme Disease Symptoms in Dogs As a side note I would take her to the vet to make sure and if its ring worm get a topical treatment. |
Back in our yard there's a big pile of soil she keeps playing and digging in. Could she have maybe gotten ring worm from there? |
Yeah, doesn't look like from a tick bite or lymes disease to me? |

Looks like ring worm to me. :( Max, my Morkie, had it when he came to us as a 16 week puppy. Even with vet care (sulfur dips, meds, shampoo,...) it spread quickly all over him and then to the entire family (6 of us) including the cat. No one was spared and I acted quickly. I was bleaching every thing I could in the entire house. It is contagious. I would start putting on the cream for ring worm until you can get to a vet. |
