Whats wrong with her eye! Lolas right lower eyelid looks like a basset hounds eye. I have no idea how it happened but it must have happened between 10pm and midnight. She isn't acting any different and it doesn't seem to bother her. Still its bothering me. I'm gonna call the vet and see if its anything I should be super concerned over. If so I'm sure they'll let me come in tomorrow morning. Otherwise I have a visit scheduled for the 29th for heart worm tests anyway. Anyone have something like this happen? She has been having a lot more "eye boogers" lately but only in her left eye, and this is her right. My sisters dog does lick at her eyes all the time I try to stop her whenever I can. I'm just concerned about it. I hate when my baby has something wrong. |
I think I found what it is. Dog Dry Eye - Dry Eyes Treatments in Dogs | petMD Still gonna go to the vet tomorrow for a quick look. |
Is it like cherry eye? I'm glad you're calling the vet in the morning. When it comes to the eyes, I'm too scared to sit and wait. Let us know what the vet says. I'll be thinking of her. Sending good vibes her way. |
Well. Its a severe bacterial infection, caused by my sisters dog licking her eyes day and night. We got her 2 shots and some antibacterial cream for both eyes. The doc said that if she isn't SIGNIFICANTLY better in the next 7 days, she may need surgery to remove the infected inner eyelid. Really worried and even though I know it wasn't kouklas intention to make my dog miserable, I'm still kinda pissed at her. |
I hope your dog will be ok, just food for thought my Cooper has kcs cronic eye infections and right before he he would start an eye infection shaffer my other dog would lick coopers face, eye specialist said shaffer knew the infection was there first and didn't cause the infection. That was the only time shaffer would go near his eyes, after many tests they concluded shaffer never gave him the infection as I had thought, perhaps this is not the case with your dog but was with mine. My vet says dogs often know things before we do. |
Oh no, poor baby. I hope the treatment works and surgery isn't needed. Feel better, Lola, and no more eye licking bonding with the other doggie! :) |
Lola never had an eye problem, and koukla has a fetish for licking anywhere she can reach. She's always done it. She would lick my eyes if I sat still long enough. Thanks you guys I really hope she'll do ok. |
Praying she gets better :aimeeyork |
Hope she gets better fast! Poor thing. |
Sending prayers for Lola that her eyes heals this week and won't require additional treatment. It's a good thing you brought her in right away! |
I hope Lola is better soon and wont need surgery. Good thing you acted quickly and got her seen by the vet. Hugs to both of you. |
Lola is doing much much better already. I have to keep monitoring the clips to keep her hair out of her eyes but the ointment has helped a lot. The Cherry eye is almost gone and no discharge from either eye today. Hopefully by thursday her infection will be long gone! |
Great! Thanks for the update. :) |
Oh my, I saw some pics of Cherry Eye and it's pretty scary. Glad to hear Lola is improving and making a full recovery. |
glad lola is feeling better keeping her in my thoughts for a full fast recovery. |
