My puppy ate some rubber flip flop, help?? My 5 month old yorkie ate some of my flip flop the night before last, I haven't seen him poop much since then, should I worrie? He has been eating, drinking and playing, seems fine but I haven't seen him poop today. Thanks Kama |
Do you know for sure he hasn't pooped? How much of your flipflop did he eat? |
How much did the pup eat & about how much does he weigh ? If it's a tiny peace & the pup is a good size he may be OK but I would take him to the vet ASAP if he starts vomiting or having diarrhea as rubber can def cause a total blockage. |
Well, he's fine now had a good poop, he did eat quite a bet, and he's weighs 2lbs&12oz Thanks |

Thanks, good to know! He's like a little kid he puts everything he finds in his mouth, I just came in from drying off, he fell in the pool, I had my back truned and heard a flop. He was swiming to the stairs so thats good, I never leave him alone, but was going to wait until the pool warmed up before introducing him to it, he was quite shocked needless to say. Hopefully he learned a lession, I have two other Yorkies one who loves to jump in so I'm not new to having dogs living around a swiming pool. A pup this young I would never trust to be alone with it. I HATE swimming pools! Contrary to what everyone believes, dogs do not know instinctively how to swim. I always ask my new owners if they have a pool...even a little fish pond....I started doing that when one of my babies went to her forever home, and within a week, had drowned in their Koi pond.....I beat myself up daily for not catching that and preparing them for the danger. NOW, I teach ALL my babies to swim before they go to their new home, and if the people have a pool, I insist they get a life jacket and bring it with them when they come to pick the baby up....we can fit it at that time......and I KNOW they got the life jacket! These babies are just like a toddler, you cant take your eyes off them for a second, especially around water! |

Yeah, with the pool we put the safety ladder in for them, but the waters just to cold yet for him to be out in and he's not allowed to be out there without me anyway. Believe me I'll teach him about the pool I can't imagine not having him. |
Don't be surprised if he doesn't want to go nearrr the pool now! Little bugger may be afraid....thank god dogs do remember things, you definitely need to keep an eye on this little guy! |
