Her BUN is 299 and her Creatinine is 5.2.

I honestly do not remember his dosage. This medicine has been used for years in veterinary medicine...I am sure your vet can find information on it! Cody was about 7 pounds.

Hope your vet can help w/ this. Mirtaz/Remeron is an older med, but still used a lot; one of its uses is definitely nausea, and stimulating appetite. In cancer patients, Remeron is often used for those qualities.

I've heard great things about Dr. Remillard.

I will keep them in mind. Thanks.

She ate over 1/4 cup of the prescription dog food today.

I do have the SQ fluids now on hand if she will not eat which is why I wanted it to prevent her from becoming dehydrated.

I hope she continues to eat that food. It really may make a difference in her lab values.

Will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope she does too. The vet can't tell me how much of the canned kidney food at a minimum she should be eating. K/D per their official website says 3/8 to 1/2 can for 5 pound dog. If this hold true with the Purina NF than today she ate the minimum :). The Purina site does not have a canned food recommendation chart- Just says it is for supplemental/ intermittent use and to follow vet instructions. I can't deal the unknown. I need to be in control or I get super anxious and panic.

If I asked him all my questions I think he would have me committed for a psych. eval. That is why I am posting so much here. I feel better when I do.

I would think perhaps 1/4 cup twice/day is about right. I give canned RX food to some of my pups. I have a 3 lb foster right now who eats about 1/8 cup twice per day....and a 7 pound foster who eats 1/4 cup twice/day. I would think that it is not going to hurt her to have a little extra! If you see her gaining or losing, you can adjust it. That is what I usually do with all of my pups.

She ate a total of 1/4 cup of food for the day over 4 attempted feedings. I hope this is enough. I am resisting the urge to weight her daily. She does feel heavier to me though and not as skinny. I would rather she be slightly overweight then I would not be worrying so much about her and trying to micromanage her every move.

The last line is 100% true.

We could all be committed at times when our pups are sick! It is a very stressful thing.

This is why I go offended before by earlier comments. I would never give something without checking with the vet first. He wants me to hold off on a veterinary nutrition plan/consult til after I get the blood work done again & the same with UPenn. He keeps saying to relax and stop panicing. He is trying mommy (me) more than baby. I know he is right.

I just took everyone out and when they came in everyone but her walked though the kitchen to the family room but she sat in front of the cookie counter- Something she has not done in a week at least. She must be feeling pretty great today. She ate 10 yogurt drops her favorite thing in the world normally but until today she was refusing even them. I know only give treats with caution but she was eating them with such vigor.

Life is good at this moment :D

Zoey has gained 1/2 pound since her diagnosis which is great. She goes for blood work next week. She is full of herself again especially after her SQ fluids. She keeps trying to eat the other dogs food which is a great signs for her that she has an appetite. She will still only eat 1/4 cup of the kidney dog food but is always looking for more food.
