My little Gina passed away from this. It is difficult to think about her last days (5 days in hospital away from us) even now. She passed in Feb '10 with the same symptoms - vomiting at night. I noticed that her stools were dark but did not realize that it was blood. I was trying different foods because she didn't want to eat and I was panicking trying to find something she liked. Looking back now I feel terrible that I didn't pursue the eating problem. I hope you find an answer and get your little one healthy. Best of luck to you. |
Sense I have had a dog pass from this same thing,I think that I would of looked for a specialist if I had known then what I know now. As for the vasoline,it is petrolium based (like oil and gas). That just doesnt sound safe to me. The licking thing can be stress or allergies. If I understand correctly, candidas can be an overgrowth of yeast in the system, maybe yougart, plain. I dont usually tell someone that they may need to look for a different vet,but this time I would like to suggest that. Before you start trying more new things, seek out a new vet. |
I just now saw your post and I started a new thread with an update from the vet that first treated her. They suggested sending out the biospy because it believes it sounds like Inflammatory bowel disease. You suggested an overgrowth of yeast which I would like to ask my vet about. Do you know how they would test for this? |
I have no idea how to test for too much yeast in the intestines. If you can find a gastro type specialest for animals,I think this would be your best bet. I am so sorry that I am not more help. |
thanks so much Im going to start looking into it. |
