Not sure if I should post this here or in health. Callie is limping some again but its not all the time. If she takes off to run or runs a little around the house where I have everything blocked off so she can't jump she dosent limp. When she pulls on the leash which she only does with my mom she dosent limp. Is she trying to protect it or is it hurting? What do you think? We go to the orthopedic surgeon on Thursday and I was hoping he was gonna clear her for normal activity and to see Sammy but now I am worrying like crazy again. I also noticed her left leg that has not had surgery is occasionally shaking when she is standing could the extra work she is putting on it cause the ACL to tear quicker? I know the ACL is more then likely going to tear and need surgery on the left leg but she is so depressed I don't think she could go right back in for surgery and 2 more months in the pen with out some kind of brake to be herself and run inbetween I am so worried about Thursday I am getting stress hives. Can any one help ease my worrys? |
Our babies are much like us, they do what they have to try and take care of themselves. I think your Callie Mae is doing the best she can. We worry about our babies and its so hard to figure it out when its our own. You love Callie and she knows it.
I know how badly you want her to be the "normal" pup she deserves to be, but know that in due time she will be. I trust that you have an Orthopaedic Specialist that you trust? Let him do the thinking and planning for your little girl, and you concentrate on loving her and holding her as much as possible. A few months, when it is all over you will have your sweet girl running and playing non-stop! And as more time passes all the big technical words and such will become difficult to recall!
My Ms. Mini had many leg problems too, surgeries, meds etc., I was so well versed I could write the book, now it takes a couple minutes to recall all the details I once knew by heart!
Take care of you too Momma, do something nice for yourself, eat and drink lots of water, worrying can really deplete our human systems and Callie Mae needs you!! |
