Theo has possible broken tail bone HELP, I got a call from a gal that bought a pup of mine a year and half year ago. She said Theo yelped out of nowhere and since then has been laying low, not eating or drinking much. I went to see him and saw his anal glands were full so I emptied them thinking that was the problem. Then I noticed he favors his left side and his tail is not sticking up and then it sits to the side. I asked if he fell and she said she didn't know that it was dark when he yelped and since then he hasn't eaten or drank much and she didn't notice if he went potty. He got up to greet me and then just awkwardly sat until someone picks him up. His eyes are showing he is in some type of pain and he whimpers every so often. Anyone experience a broken tail bone before? Could this be what is wrong with Theo? I say this since his lil tail is down and to the side he can wag side to side but it's not standing up. Anyone experience anything like this? |
It sounds like he needs to be seen by a vet asap. No way anyone can diagnose this online .. he needs to be examined. Hope the poor baby is ok. |
Oh that sounds really awful! Poor little thing. How long has he been like this? I definitely think he should get to a vet ASAP. |
This just happened that's why I went over there, he is definitely going to vet first thing in am unless She sees that he is getting worst thru the night then ER Vet he goes and I will meet them there. Just never seen this before...update via call he whimpered as someone ate "doritos" bag was put down and he went in the bag grabbed chips and ran under couch...At least I now know he is being selective when he wants to walk and eat. |
I hope he is ok. I would probably be at the EC. |
I don't think I could wait either. Especially since he is in obvious pain. Poor little thing. :( Please let us know what happens as we will all be worried about him. |
I'm betting it's not his tail but his spine & if so, he could be paralyzed by morning. A dead appearance in the tail is a symptom of spinal injury. |
