Poor little Pita! :( Try a Sherpa sling, you can carry her with you w/o taking up your hands. My Dexter sits in one because he always wants to be held and I can't always hold him, so I throw the sling on and he just sits in it around my chest. Granted he is only 5.5lbs so its not too heavy on my shoulders, neck or back. Hope she heals quickly and time flies for you guys! |
So sorry to hear about Pita!!! It breaks your heart when they are hurt. I had to crate Gilmore for 3 months after his knee surgery and was freaked out that we would not survive and that it would break his spirit. He was only 9 months old. We did fine and it did nothing to his spirit. The first few weeks were definitely tough but then you adjust and find ways to make things easier. I had his crate up on a bin so he was at eye level and felt more like he was part of everything we were doing. Hope the time passes quickly and Pita is good as new. |
Aw... poor lil Pita... sending prayers for a speedy recovery. |
*UPDATE* Spoke to surgeon I spoke to our vet about an hour ago, who is an orthopedic surgeon, about our options. He is such a patient, wonderfully nice man. I asked a million and one questions and he answered them with a kind heart. He gave me all of the information that I needed and the second we hung up I called my hubs. We weighed all of the pros and cons of letting it heal on it's own vs. surgery and we have decided to go forth with surgery. It will give her elbow the best chance to heal properly and lower the chances of more serious problems with it in the future. I will be bringing her in at 7:30am in the morning. It has happened so quickly that I won't have too long to let my mind run and dwell on all of the what-ifs. Thank you YT for all of your support and encouragement please keep little Pita in your prayers through her surgery tomorrow. Looks like she will be getting a brand new elbow for her 1st birthday(the 17th), can't wait until she gets to test it out...I sure do miss her running 80mph laps around the living room....sigh. |
I will definitely keep little Pita in my thoughts and prayers. Hope the surgery goes well. |
I will keep her in my prayers! She will be back to running laps before you know it....and you won't have to worry about her limping or being in pain while she does it. She's a lucky girl to have a mom and dad who care about her so much! |
Many prayers and well wishes being said for sweet Pita. Hugs from me & Zhoie...I just know all will be fine. You are both such a great mommy & daddy to Pita and taking care of her needs. Sending prayers...:hands: |
Miss Pita will certainly be in my prayers for her surgery tomorrow. Please keep us updated. |
Will be keeping Pita in my thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery and a quick recovery. It sounds like you made the best decision for her. She is lucky to have such caring parents. Give her a big yorkie hug from Trixie! |
Feel better little Pita pie!!! You are absolutely adorable! You're in my thoughts and prayers as well as Geno's! |
...just popping in to see how little Pita is doing with her 'quiet/still time'. Still praying for her little elbow to fully heal! |
Surgery day 3 Attachment(s) I dropped off my baby girl this morning bright at early at 7am for her elbow surgery today. Boy was that hard on mommy! I am sooooo not good with sitting around and waiting....thankfully I am at work but I keep looking at pics that I took of her last night, how lame am I! Daddy and big skin brother went to bed early last night so me and my girl just hung out and had some down time. We got caught up on Housewives of Bev Hills(Pita was very jealous of Jiggy's purple blazer!!!), and I got a few pics of her before we went to bed. I CANNOT wait to go pick her up this afternoon. Thank you for all of the well wishes and prayers, means so much to us! |
Wow! You get to pick her up this afternoon! Great! I was a wreck on Tink's surgery day.... the time goes soooo sloooowwww! But she'll be home before you know it! Keeping Pita in my prayers! (and you too!):D And her pics: She's adorable! Big Hugs! |
Sending good thoughts and prayers for you and pita |
