Aww, love the pictures of sweet Pita.

I was hoping to see how she's doing. I'm going to take that as all must be going well. I'll check back in later...anxiously awaiting an update that she is out of surgery. Sending prayers.

*Update*
 
I got an update from the vet's office that she did perfectly!!! He was able to 'fix' her elbow and make it all brand new. I will be leaving shortly to go pick her up and find out all of the details of our road to recovery. I am so hoping that the surgery will help the elbow heal faster and so much better than if we had let it heal on it's own, you can't help but constantly question your decisions.

Talk to all of you guys later, can't wait to see my babylove! :p

Ashley I am so sorry! I am just now seeing this. I feel awful that I've been messaging you and haven't said anything.:( I hope Miss Pita's surgery went great and that her elbow heals up soon! I'm sure today has been very stressful for you! Payslee sends Pita hugs and kisses.:animal-pa

No worries Chelsey :)

We have been home for about 3 hours. She hates the cone that we had to go buy her because she kept licking the stitches. The incision looks good but makes me a bit quesy knowing how painful it must be. We go back in a week. Keeping her happy is my main mission the first week because she is so full of energy usually and isn't built for lounging around. Wish us luck :)

I'm so glad that she's doing well. Payslee is the same way, she is so active I cannot imagine trying to keep her still lol. Good luck! If we can do anything please let me know! [:

Our first night was interesting. We tried to go to bed without that darn cone but she just couldn't resist licking that booboo, so back on the cone went. She couldn't decide if she wanted to be under the covers or on top most of the night. She usually sleeps under the covers, but I am sure between the stitches and that cone it just wasn't too comfortable. I was up most of the night worrying about her and placing pillows around her so she wouldn't try to get up and get off the bed. We will get the hang of it in time :D

Here is a pic of her from last night and THAT cone as we affectionately call it.

Just reading about Pita. I am so sorry this happened to her. Jersey broke his leg a few years back so I know how hard the recovery can be on Mom. Sending wishes for a speedy recovery:)

I just read through your thread and I am so sorry that your baby was injured. It sounds like you have a great group of vets.

Just now seeing this and so sorry little Pita broke her elbow! I'm so glad that she got through the surgery well and I'll pray for a speedy recovery!

Thank you all so much for the support and well wishes. You guys make me turn to mush! We had a great day. I had to catch up on some house cleaning and Pita was such a good patient. She laid in her bed and just watched me do the cleaning. She got frisky when we went out to pity this afternoon which made me so happy that this isn't crushing her spirit. But I had to quickly scoop her up before she got too wild. LOL. I have a feeling that she is going to make a 110% comeback. Thanks again YT friends, you are the ones that truly understand what this is like.

Wonderful to hear she has been doing well. Yorkie spirits don't crush as easily as having to be a bed patient for awhile. They are rather resilient.:)
