Puppy Delivery advice Adopted a 1 year old Tea-cup Yorkie on Dec. 20th.2011. Came from a breeder in S. Florida. Her belly was swollen and they said worms were the cause. NOT even close. She started delivering at 2:00 P.M. today. First one is alive and well. 2nd one is halfway out and in no hurry. Mom is fine! This Yorkie is only ! year old and tiny. ANYONE GOT ANY ADVICE? It is 10:30 Central and she is still laboring, and Yorkie Tuff. Have a 5 year old Female, full size. Love these dogs!!!!:D:animal36 |
How is she doing? |
I hope she's had that baby by now. I would get her to the vet ASAP as you have no idea how many pup's are in there or if she will be able to deliver the rest of them on her own. Better to be safe then sorry. |
I'd be gently placing mom & baby in an appropriate sized crate & rushing to the emergency vet. If you are inexperienced you do not know what to even look for to evaluate an emergency. Yorkies often need C-Sections, but a "teacup" OMG! loss of mother &/or pups is a serious reality. Hope it is all okay, please at least get on the phone with your vet & update. I'd not even bother telling the person she came from-saying it's just worms! What a POS greeder! |
Definite vet time now for the mother and pups sake |

I hope everyone's okay! |
