Tuesday is finally here...just thinking about Cookie and praying her vet visit goes well.

Cookie had her ultrasound this morning and all signs are pointing to lymphangiectasia. The ultrasound did show enlarged lacteals, but they still need to do biopsies. They had to put her on IV fluids and give her hetastarch due to the concern of anesthetizing her with her albumin being so low. They called me at 12:30 to report that she was just going under anesthesia and having her endoscopy done.

They are going to keep her overnight. I surely hope she can be out of there tomorrow. I should be hearing from them soon and will post after that.

Thank you so much for your prayers...my sweet Cookie is going to need lots of them. This is a scary diagnosis. I hope she responds to treatment.

Ohhhhh and how nice of Valerie/Lolasmom1211 to come to GCVS to give me some moral support. It was so nice to see her! :)

Poor little Cookie. She's in the best hands right now, and I know she's going to be a one tough cookie...:)

Hugs and prayers still going out for her and her brave, loving Momma. I just know she's going to be your Christmas miracle. Let us know how the endoscopy goes.

The vet just called. The endoscopy is done and Cookie is doing fine. They had some problems with her blood pressure duing the procedure so they opted not to do the colonoscopy. The plan was that if the endoscopy did not show something really obvious they would look at the large intesting. So....that is on hold for now. He is going to wait until the biopsy results to see where to go next. He said that while it did not look as significant as he thought it might, it does not mean it is not. Said that the biopsies tell all. Gee, I hope I am explaining this well. I am stressed and tired. Anyway....he does definitely feel better keeping her overnight since her blood pressure was off. They will call me later on today to let me know how she is doing. She is in ICU and getting really good care so I am not overly concerned.

He is going do consult with the nutritionist tomorrow morning. He said that if I don't have a problem home cooking, that it might be the way to go with her.

I'm glad Cookie is out of surgery. I hope that what-ever the diagnosis ends up being, that it is treatable. I hope you got some sleep last night Linda. More prayers for you and Cookie....hope that she gets to go home with you today.

I have a 1 PM appointment to pick up Cookie! :) I don't know any details....will post later on after I know more. I am just so happy she is coming home!!

Oh yes...and vice versa! :D I cannot wait to see her!!! Cookie is my "momma" and I know the others will be thrilled to see her as well. My little foster Kiche has been acting a bit off ... he spends most of his day following her around. Really endearing...he is about 1/5 her size. She has always taken care of the pups in my home.

They just called me back. The vet wanted me to see the nutritionist, so I have an appointment with her at noon. :)
