Tracheal Bronchitis Both my girls, Vivi and Piccolo, have it and are being seen by the vet. Apparently this particular strain starts with snorting and sneezing and moves on to coughing. (I also have bronchitis, so that is a little weird.) Anyway, we are all riding it out together and looking forward to better health soon. :) |
Hope you are all well soon. |
Sending get well wishes! So sorry they are and you are sick:( Someone needs to make you some Chicken Noodle Soup:) |
Bless all your hearts!! Sending hugs and prayers for a speedy recovery! |

tracheal bronchitis We need some help here. My Deucy's boy, Baker is coughing so much and has never acted like this before. Pauline (Baker's mommy) is worried sick and so am I. I need information on ANYBODY who may know something about the tracheal collapse symptoms, maybe even a video of what it sounds like. She is taking him to the vet tomorrow but we are ALL SO worried!!!!! Please pass the word and ANYBODY who has had experience with the tracheal collapse or tracheal bronchitis...anything tracheal that may help explain this or give us some encouraging words to read will help!! Please, PRAY for little Baker!!!! |

Here is the thread that Mauigirl so graciously found for me about the differences between kennel cough, reverse sneezing and tracheal collapse. Hope this helps and please let us know what the vet says. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...d-trachea.html |

I did that right before our trip to the vet. (One clip for Vivi and one for Piccolo having an episode). My vet said he was very glad I did that and gave a diagnosis and prescribed medicine right away. For whatever reasons, my girls do not always display symptoms at the vet like I see at home, so these videos really helped me. I have always wondered if they have an adrenaline rush at the vet, from being nervous, and this overshadows their symptoms. Hope that makes sense. Anyway, hope all goes well today for you and Baker. |

Good news on BAKER!! I just wanted to thank you all for your prayers and well-wishes for Baker. He had full xray set and his trachea is FINE!! Vet said he might be allergic to something in the house and put him on antibiotics. I've asked Pauline how he is doing now since he should be through with the antibiotics but haven't heard back. In this case, no news is good news. THANK YOU ALL!!!! |

Probably kennel cough. Usually harmless but a royal pain. I always tell people who foster to quarantine because my first foster taught me a valuable lesson. I had six pups coughing because of him....took some time before they all got it, but get it they did. Hope Vivi and Pic are fine very soon. |
MY YORKIE ONLY sounds congested when she runs and especially if she has a ball in her mouth. She does snore sometimes, but always did. Breathing is VERY Normal when she sleeps. Any thoughts on this? |

I know what kennel cough sounds like because Autumn got it after she had the vaccine. She is so allergic to so many things. It's unusual I guess, but the vet agreed that it's probably why she got it. This doesn't sound like that. It's a congested sound and just mostly after running, being very hot and with the ball in her mouth. |
