11 week old chewing on wall My older yorkie is 5 and never did this so I am a little panicked! My 11 week old yorkie chewed about a 1" inch piece of the baseboard with sheetrock... Should I be concerned about her ingesting the paint, wood and sheetrock? It was a very small amount but I am just unsure... |
She may get a blockage that would be my concern |
Some of my woodwork will have to be replaced it looks like rats have been here puppies are so bad to chew anything |
I have had the same thing happen. The puppies showed no signs of any trouble though. They were always fine. I have put cayenne pepper on the woodwork where they started licking or chewing before too. They don't care much for that! I have put the cayenne pepper in a very small amount of water and rubbed it on the wood in those areas. I also make sure they have plenty of toys and chew toys to play with and let them know those are for chewing on when they start to chew on something they shouldn't. Otherwise, you just have to watch them until they get past that chewing stage. |

and they loved it :D |
Yorkies are like goats. They'll eat anything! Carpet, sheetrock, wood, rocks, electric cords... |
LOL thats for sure they have done it all here except for rocks, if they could have got them i'm sure they would have eat them to |
Thats right. Yorkies will eat anything. When we first got Kayla she eat the sheetrock above the bed. She slept with us and while we were sleeping she was chowing down on the wall. She also eat a place in the hall that also had to be fixed. I have had them chew and eat just about everything. lol!!! |
I let one have a taste of apple bitter spray and put some on the sheetrock she was nibbling on.. |

I think madness must run in the family...:D Someone else suggested smearing the offending area with mans stick deodorant? Sorry, I've never tried it though! Sally + Harry x |
