infected hair follicles We tookJ.J. to the vet and found he had infected hair follicles. Bumbs that turn into scabs. He was on medication for 15 days which cleared it up. But now he has got a couple more, after visiting the groomers. I wondering if it isn't that he need a special shampoo? Any body have this problem. |

Ask your vet to see if he/she carries Pyoben shampoo. It is a 3% benzoyl peroxide antimicrobial, keratolytic follicular flushing shampoo. It is made by Virbac. My baby Neo had the same problem (also allergies) and the vet derm gave me this shampoo and Humilac for a rinse (non greasy). It is kinda pricey, but worth it to get the problem under control. Follow the vet's directions. Good luck! |
