shot or not I have a 11 month old yorkie, but my daughter purchased a 11 week old. She has had her for 2 weeks, took her for her first shot on Friday. She acted fine all day, until about 3 in the afternoon. She ate was outside and started with her tongue going in and out and acting like she had the hiccups, bellying gurgling. She kept the hiccuping up, off and on for about 2 hours. Sleeping a lot and when you would pick her up she would act like the hiccups again. Got up on Sunday and did eat and played, but slept most of the day. We tried to call vet, but did not answere on Sat. night since we live out in the country. She is eating, but called vet said it couldn't be shot because it didn't have the kind with the L in it. Not sure what work he said. She is only 3 pounds so I am hoping her next shot, she will react this way. Did anyone else have this problem. Two nights of sitting up with her, just like babies. |
Any vaccination can cause a reaction, not just Lepto. The tongue action is usually a sign of nauseousness. Did the pup eat anything out of the ordinary from her usual diet? She may have gotten into something outside. I believe that vacc reactions usually include lethargy (more than just being tired), facial swelling, or difficulty breathing. Sometimes more severe reactions will include seizures. |
