Thank you. It seems I get more information here then between 2 vets. I did not know it was a chain reaction. She also has aspirated pneumonia from all that vomiting. My poor baby. I am going back tonight to see her. God willing she ate and kept it down. Thank you all so much for the valuable information.

My baby had pancreatitis and my vet said that the breed was prone to pancreatitis and liver problems. I did some dietary changes and used a liver support kit: Pancreatitis in dogs | symptoms | supplements The kit is really helping. It is three formulas. Each is a capsule and you can open a little from each capsule, mix together and sprinkle on food.

Don't get discouraged. Yorkies are feisty little dogs. Just keep praying
God loves dogs. I'm sure her food will stay down and even you said she looks better. Forget the possibles they are not definates. I really believe your baby will
get better.

You guys are so helpful.. Thank you so much. She looked so much better today after my visit. She was hungry I could tell. She did have a little diarrhea after eating but no vomiting. Hopefully she comes home tomorrow. Once we get this pancreatitis calmed done I will get her blood tested for cushons disease and then each problem they found one by one. Unfortunately she does have a collapsed trachea so I'm afraid to do any surgery. I can't wait to take her home. I am going to take all suggestions f on here and apply them. Thank you

It's great news that she looked and felt so much better. Poor baby. Pancreatitis is very painful so I am sure she was miserable before. Slow and steady wins the race with this one - it can take a while to completely recover from acute pancreatitis and relapse is common in the first few weeks, so follow vet instructions carefully and feed exactly and only what you're told to feed her. Especially in a dog that has already had pancreatitis, the smallest dietary mishap can throw them off again.

In the meantime, do your home work now and research Cushing's Disease. Since you already have the ultrasound showing enlarged adrenal glands, its a very good chance the tests will come back positive but you need some blood tests to confirm it. If you search this group you'll find a lot of information on managing the disease, as I know there are others here that have dealt with it.

I am sorry your baby is sick. I have had that issue with both of my girls and it sucks. My two girls are half sisters born 2 years apart. They have the same mom.

Poor Abbie had it the worst and she spent 4 days at the hospital our vet was great in NC. She lived close by and went and checked on her every 4 hours. She would call and update us twice a day. She even called us to come pick her up on Sunday when she was doing much better even though the office was closed. She had to have the same medication in addition to anti nausea and IV fluids. We had to change her diet. We would give her ham or chicken with veggies we fixed for meals. We had no further issues after that.

When we moved to FL and she went to a new vet. The first thing he did after he viewed her records was put her on a diet. He gave her a metabolic diet food for 3 weeks and the same with her sister. She was a little chunky, but our old vet wasn't overly concerned. He said her weight could cause a flair up her pancreAtis. I had never heard that before, but ws weny witb it. She lost 3 1/2 pounds with the diet and swimming in our pool almost daily. It seemedbto help both girls.

What we did learn is we alwsys have to wafch tbem after we eat because they are bettef at clesning tbe floor than my dyson. I have caught tbem witb chips or othef food the kids drop. It doesn't taje much fat to causs an epusode.

Thank you Diane it is so overwhelming. The ultrasound opened up so many things it's crazy. She is finally home today :) looking normal. They say she has nerve damage from a stroke due to Cushing Disease :( that's why her left side droops and her eye will not close nor blink. My vet said he did not know why it happened that it happens to older dogs :mad: she has HTN and so many other little things. Makes me think her time is nearing :( I will read up on these diseases for sure. As soon as this Pancreatitis is calm I will get the test for Cushing disease. Thank you again :)
