Ally was lifeless! 2 Attachment(s) I had a terrible scare yesterday morning. I was walking around the Family Room, while Tia and Ally were laying on the couch. I put steps up to the couch so they can get up and down. Ally is a squirrel fanatic and just loves them, so she is always on the watch for them...no matter where she is. I heard both girls startle (bells on their collars) and I turned to see a squirrel on the fence. Both girls jumped to their feet and headed for the steps to get down. Tia was at the door within seconds, but Ally was nowhere to be found. I called her and she didn't come. I found her lifeless behind the coffee table! I called her and she didn't move. I paniced and couldn't breath or even move...ready to faint and throw up all over the floor! I moved her soft pillow bed close to her and gently put her in it, got dressed and rushed her to the vet, crying the whole way! She finally lifted her head when we walked in. Well, after an examination, xrays, and a steroid shot, my baby girl is fine. Ally had gone into shock and even her little tail was limp! It took all day yesterday for her to recover, but today she is 90% her normal little 3lb self. I'm guessing that Tia must have bumped her off the couch. The vet thinks she landed on her back. I've never been so upset and thankful in all my life! I love my girls! |
Oh, girl, that story scared me to death just reading it. I'll bet you just panicked inside - I know I would. Thank God you got her right in being being cautious in how you handled and transported her and she is going to be okay. Sounds like she had quite a fall and is a very blessed little girl to be okay! Whew! I'll be your nerves are still zizzing. I'm so happy for this great ending to an awful story! |

Thank you. Ally never yelped or showed any pain when she fell. She did not make a sound until dinner time last night. She walked slow and a little hunchbacked, but seems to be ok today. Her tail finally went up this morning. Her personality is just a little off today though. She wants to play, but doesn't. I'm keeping a close eye on her and we're not picking her up or rubbing too hard as to not give her any pain. I didn't get anything done yesterday after our tragic accident. I was a nervous wreck and a headache that wouldn't stop pounding! I love my girls to death! I can't imagine not having her here! Tia would miss her sister too! |

OMG  They would have had to take both of us to the emergency room! You did a great job getting her to the vet -- did you have all your clothes on when you got there :p |

OMG  How scarey! I am so glad your little one is doing ok. |
Ally is still doing well, but has become super timid. To answer your question about me being dressed....yes, I did throw on some clothes, but not sure if everything matched or not. Hair was not brushed; it was a frizzy, curly mess. No makeup either. The vet's office must have thought I was homeless! lol I am so glad she is ok; I really was out of my mind and don't want to go thru that again! Thank you for thinking of her! |
Just reading this.... poor little Pumpkin!! Glad she is okay. :) |
I'm so glad to hear that Ally is doing better. I know what it feels when your baby is lifeless. A few weeks back my yorkie Zach was playing with his sister and for some reason Zoe's teeth got caught in Zach's collar. Zoe was flinging Zach around trying to release him When I finally cut his collar loose Zach was totally lifeless. His head was to the side and his tongue was blue. I thought he was dead. My friend and I were hysterical. I was so sure he broke his neck. I picked him up and tapped him on the back to see if he would breath and he coughed a couple of times and came to life. By the time we got to the emergency vet he was almost himself. He checked out fine the vet said he was lucky I was outside with them and cut his collar when I did because he would have been dead in a matter of seconds. |
