Poor baby. She has my thoughts and prayers. I hope everything will be ok. She's had a rough week :( |
Thanks so much everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Baby Chan is doing much better now although we are not in the clear yet. They gave her subcutaneous fluids for hydration, antinausea medicine and an antacid to help protect her stomach and esophagus. Also oral sucralfate to help coat her esophagus. I have to give her at home cerenia for nausea, sucralfate and pepcid. She is also to eat a bland diet of chicken and white rice with yogurt or cottage cheese or Canned ID from Hills Science Diet. I purchased a can and she ate about 1/4 cup. I am also making the boiled chicken and rice now. She was also given a test for Pancreatitis which came back negative. The vet was kind of enough to test her for free. She also had blood work done at the emergency hospital which came back looking fine. She has had a hell of a week! Baby Chan has not gotten up from her bed since we got home. Exhausted I'm sure! I appreciate all these replies which in my moments of total fear and devastation keep me thinking of what I need to do! And just hearing things from you guys, when I go to the vet I can suggest things I have read here that are strong possibilities! And I can seem like I know what I am talking about : ) |
Just seeing this now and I am so happy your baby is doing better!! I will pray that the recovery is quick and painless for both of you!! |

Wonderful news! I will continue to watch for updates on Baby Chan as she continues to recuperate. :) |
Oh my how scary this must have been for you. Very happy to here your Baby Chan is home with you now and starting to feel better. By all means let her and her digestive system rest. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. |
I'm so glad that your Baby Chan is feeling better. That sounded really scary. It's a good thing you were so quick on your feet! |
Just seeing this and glad Baby Chan is on the mend. Make sure to stick with the bland diet for as long as the vet recommends- it can take some time for these little pups to fully recover from these types of things. |
Er help please! Cant stand, shaking, staring God bless all the litle yorkies out there....i have an ER. My yorkie is in intensive care at a doggie hospital ready to go see a neurologist tomorrow, she has been in and out of the vet's office all week long...Vet thinking it was gastro...put her on pain med, antibiotics, pepcid ac and another stomach pill and stomach shot...so she can eat. she did ok all week, but will not drink on her own,,,i have to put water in a syringe and feed little tilly who is only 3 yrs old and 3.1 lbs....she lost a pound! Checked for blood work, all good, sugar, all good...on a few IV's now and last week for fluids...to help her even though she is not dehydrated. She has that 'stare" that TIKI'S mom was mentioning....new, today DR thinks it is seizure or something w/brain???? She is a house dog...never outside...too hot and my lizards and birds (in the water behind my house) are larger than she is....i have her all set up inside nicely and comfortably for 3 yrs here...she didnt get into drugs or chemicals...what could this be??? No temp,,,pulse is good...she is not eating or drinking unless i do it myself. i hand feed her maybe a tablespoon of ID food....this takes an hour but anything for my baby...and she is a good drinker from the syringe. When she is up in my bed,,,,she stops shaking and goes to sleep. When i put her down,,,she cant stand up long enough to walk and leans to one side more than the other.,,,,twitches her nose...dr said this may be sign of neurological......WHAT DO I DO??? I AM SOOO SAD ABOUT MY BABY AND I CALL FOR HER EVERY HOUR,,,,They doped her up with a relaxer so she could sleep.....PLEASE PRAY AND SHARE IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR ANSWERS,,,DONT EVEN ASK WHAT I HAVE PAID SO FAR....my baby is worth it...she has brought me soooo much joy! Thanks!!! |

I am so happy to read that baby Chan is doing better! I will continue to pray for a full healing. Sending good vibes! Glad she is feeling better. :) I know how scary it is now to have GI issues, etc. It's so terrible to see them in pain and not entirely sure what is wrong. :( |

Yes it's heart breaking to see them in pain and then to NOT KNOW WHY! I still don't have a straight answer as to why that happened the other night. The vet could only give me possibilities! |
Thanks everyone for taking the time to say something : ) You all are real nice! Baby Chan seems better. A little nervous but it's from the two weekends in the hospital, her surgery and then the emergency trip! Bland diet helped plus she loves boiled chicken! Thank you all again! |
Just seeing this. Hoping for a fast recovery for everyone! |
