The last vaccination You probably have answered this query a million times but i just need some advice as im a few concerned. Today i have taken my baby "big" for his last injection, and hes really ill. I understand that of course thre are side effects from the vaccines, but it worries me when i see him so ill, When we first arrived home he had the squirts but was more or less ok in himself, apart from being in pain where they stuck in the needle on his back. A few hours later he has been sleeping and not wanting to eat or drink or move. He cried a few as i supose hes in pain and has a fever. My question is whats the best thing i should do. Should i leave him sleeping until morning, or try to give him anything. Hes feels hot and his breathing is faster than the norm. I hate to see him like this. Am i being over reactive or should i be worried????:( |
Lethargy is normal and sometimes a bit of pain. Fast breathing and not wanting to move is not normal and excessive pain can be medicated. Call the vet and see what they want you to do. Are his gums pink and wet? |
I called the vet and he says its normal the shaking a few as he will have fever, but if it gets worse to call back. I offered him some water and he drank it willingly. I checked on him throughout the night and he was sleeping and seemed to be ok, so i left him sleeping. This morning hes a diffrent dog. He woke me at 6.oo am, running around, wagging his tail, throwing his toys.....Hes full of beans thank goodness, back to his mischeivious, naughty self lol :D I did get scared as he was like i never saw him before, but after he slept it off he ok. Over paranoid me... but tough little man is tougher than he looks :) |
So glad to read he is better today. They sure can worry us :) |
