Needing Prayers!
 
Frequent lurker, not so frequent poster asking for prayers for my Gracie.

Tomorrow Gracie goes back to the vet for major surgery. She has a mass which is either a bad kidney or a tumor. :( Hoping for a bad kidney.

She has been at the vet for the last week recovering from a second bout of pancreatitis but wasn't completely recovered even though her pancreas readings were within range however her WBC and glucose have still been too low. Had an ultrasound this morning to rule out a pancreatic tumor and saw that there was an issue with her left kidney or a mass hiding her left kidney. She also had a x-ray after the ultrasound.

Opted for surgery in the morning and hoping beyond all hope it is a bad kidney and she recovers. She is home for the afternoon and we are going to chill and enjoy each other's company doing whatever SHE wants to do.

Oh, I am so sorry your Gracie and you are going through all of this and will add her to my prayers that tomorrow her surgery will go well, nothing too bad will be found and all will be successfully treated. I say thank God for our wonderful veterinary surgeons and the miracles they can perform these days. Try not to be too worried and try to take care of yourself. Worry and lack of sleep can make you yourself ill so try to take care. Just know that there are a lot of dog lovers here who care very much and will be glad to lift your whole situation up in persistent prayer - believing for a miracle. God bless Gracie.

I am so sorry you and little Gracie are going through this. :( So glad you posted about this. We will be praying for Gracie (and her mommy) for her surgery tomorrow.

Thanks for all the replies and prayers! Yes, I am terrified but trying my hardest to stay positive while I have her home.

Update!
 
Just back from vet. Gracie made it through surgery very well. Not a bad kidney as we had really hoped. Her pancreas is badly abcessed (sp?) but no tumor. Cleaned it up and sent off for pathology. Should hear from that early next week. She can make it through this if it comes back clean with no cancer. It will be a very long recovery, probably up to a year and most likely she will be diabetic. :(:

My heart breaks for her. :cry: If all goes well the rest of the morning, I will be going back to bring her home this afternoon. She was wide awake, up and moving when I left her.

Thanks for everyone's prayers and good thoughts, please keep them coming. I truly appreciate it, you just don't know how much. God knows what he is doing and I have to trust in that.

Glad to hear Gracie made it thru surgery fine. Looking forward to hearing a clean pathology report. We pray for complete, quick & healthy recovery. I'm glad she can come home this afternoon. She'll be needing her momma close by.

I'm glad Gracie made it thru surgery. Prayers for a good report on her. Prayers also for speedy recovery for her.

Whew! Getting through the surgery is a biggie and now we pray for as good a lab result as possible. Miracles still possible so still praying for total recovery soon! Rest easy, little Gracie, you are in good hands and well-loved. Hope you are back to being a regular dog doing dog things very, very soon.

Praying for the test results to come back clean. Bless her little heart. I know this has to be worrisome. Diabetes is controllable. I had to give injections to my cat for about 4 years, twice a day. He was a normal little kitty all those years. Stay positive.
