Wylie got stung by a scorpion
 

I hate scorpions! :mad::mad::mad:

He is okay, I called my Regular Vet and ER vet - and they said he's okay. Gums are pink, gave benadryl, gave Nutrical. Not drooling, not shaking, no swelling.

Think he got stung on the right, forward, mouth - on the outside of the gum :(. He kept sneezing super hard - over and over, held the right side of his mouth up so you could see his teeth, tail tucked, didn't want to close his mouth, scared - wanted to be held closely.

I hope the stinger isn't in there - I can't find anything. There is usually no swelling w/ scorpion bites, which is so weird to me - but it stops you from locating the exact bit site. Maybe venom/neurotoxins don't cause swelling?

Last year, my hubby ended up in the ER bc he is allergic to the venom - he was bit in the foot and became paralyzed from mid-chest onward, had severe nystagmus (when the eyeballs wiggle back and forth super fast), tingling all over, numbness, severe pain. Unforch, the hotline nurse told us to wait it out - so we didn't go to the ER until 3hrs later - at which point they won't give the anti-venom.

I'm rambling - but I HATE scorpions! :mad:

We have our house sprayed once a month and I don't know what else to do :(. They can get thru anything, so there's nothing more we can seal. The bug guys are coming tomorrow to re-do our scorpion spray.

My poor baby :(. Okay...I gotta go...Wylie needs his Mama. But I needed to vent.

Poor Wylie! How scary for both of you, especially after what happened to your husband! Tell those nasty scorpions to leave your family alone.

Ugh, how horrible! Stinkin\' scorpions. My grandma lives in AZ and my dad grew up in Phoenix and often tells me of these \'creatures\' that live around, it scares me! Eeeek!

I am glad Wylie is doing okay though. Give him lots of hugs and kisses from Jackson and I.

Hope he gets back real fast. When we had a place in Anthem, everytime we ruturned after being gone for a period of time, I could always find a small one inside. We had the foundation and all gaps sealed, and they still find a way in.

Poor baby :( I\'d be just as upset as you are right now. I remember when your husband was stung. That was very scary!

POor little Willie. I am very glad he is ok. The thought of those things makes my stomach turn...

My heart sank when I read the thread title. Another Arizona friend\'s dog was stung by a bark scorpion and had an allergic reaction. After a week with a cardiologist...he survived to the tune of $8,700.

Phew, Ann....glad Wylie\'s okay.
