Nigel could not stand up As usual when I started the dogs walk, Simon (6lbs) attacked Nigel (5 lbs). They do this all the time, so I thought nothing of it. But this time Nigel stayed on the ground. I stood him up, and he fell back on his side, and his tongue was sticking out and he was breathing very shallow. I took him back in the house, and he seemed okay, he stood up, and took food. Any ideas of what could have happened? They are scheduled for a vet visit on Thursday, and I did call immidiately afterwards, but the vet had left, and the tech that answered said that since he took food he was probably okay. They are almost 7 years old, and current on all vaccinations, but bordatella. Thank in advance, Martha |
I am not sure but maybe he go too hot. The heat index here in Georgia was 105 today. Glad he is feeling better. |
maybe a slight form of heat exhaustion..... |
We had just started our walk. It wasn't very warm yesterday, and we had just started our walk. I talkled to vet today and she said it sounded like a seizure. He gets seen tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens after his examination. |
I am so glad he is acting better. Definitely let us know after you see the vet. Sending prayers... |
Ohhhh No... So Glad he is being seen. If it wasn't hot than it totally could have been a seizure. Riley had a heat exhaustion episode this past Sunday just walking from the back door of a place to the car. It came on within about 1 - 2 mins. It Freaked me out!! He is totally fine, now though. It was hot & humid here and about 2pm. Please keep us posted... and give Nigel some extra hugs from me & Riley!! :) |
It sounds like a seizure to me also I will keep him in my prayers and good thoughts |
Sounds like a seizure to me as well. My Teddy falls over just like this and then is fine after. He is on medicine for it. How old is Nigel? |
Could he have hit his head when he went to the ground? Sending prayers that all is well with him. |
