Limping Bella! worried :( took bella for a run on the beach yesterday and when we brought her home she started to limp on her back leg! she is fine in herself running around and stuff but now and again runs with her back leg lifted up off the ground! i felt around her back end and down her leg and inbetween her pads but everything seems normal to me she dosent seem to be in any pain just worried :( |
When my Lulu did this, it ended up being luxating patellas. :( I suggest a visit to the vet to check for this. |
I'd have a vet take a look - it could be a soft tissue injury or something worse and she may need to be rested w/ medications for inflammation. Sometimes they hold the leg up and don't seem like they are in great pain, but that doesn't mean there is no pain at all. |
It's probably not this, but always want to throw this out there; Jackson had Lymes disease early 2010 and he randomly started limping. There had been a lot of snow, etc, so I thought maybe he slipped and injured something. It ended up being lymes after doing x-rays, exams, etc, we just did a simple lymes test and that's what it was -- affecting his joints. Hope Bella feels better soon. :) |
Maggie was playing in the back yard with her sisters and yelped/cried. Then she was holding her right rear leg up and wouldn't put it down. This went on for 2 days so we took her to the vet and she has grade 3 LP. The vet gave her a shot and some meds to come home with. We had to keep her crated or calm for a couple weeks. She has been fine since then, but we are SO afraid it will become a chronic problem and require surgery. We are being careful with her for now. This sounds like you may have the same problem. Good luck. Let us know what the vet says. |
i think it might have somthing to do with the beach a big dog ran over her and jumped on her i dont think she limped before this so im wondering if that dog did it! gonna give it a few more days and if it carrys on, shes been fine today tho running about and stuff, she does put her leg down but sometimes she limps so its not like she cannot put it down at all |
