help :confused:hi out there, i just bought a male yorkie, 6 mos old, akc, 3 lbs great little dog, he has NO TEASTIES yet, i called the breeder she said some times it takes up to 8 mos for them to come down, is this true or did i get ripped off, and how do u fix a dog who has NOTHING there, please help if u can |
Bump! Sorry, I have no words of wisdom for you. My boy was 12 months when he cMe home, so he was fully formed. He was neutered 5 days later. I hope someone else can help you out. |
I got my boys when they were 12-13 weeks old, not sure if their testicles showed but they were neutered at 6 months. |

anything..A lot of times you can feel the testies at 12 wks |
Testis can take up to 8 months to drop, but it's normally apparent by 6 months. I'm not sure what you mean by "fixing" him. If you mean in terms of neutering him, it can still be done, the surgery is a bit more invasive. If it's because you are wanting to breed him, the short answer is don't. Cryptochidism is considered a birth defect. |
6 months is a lost cause as a rule...and it costs more to neutered a male with undescendent testicles...breeder gave you poor info and should pay the extra cost of neutering...a reputable breeder that is..infact a reputable breeder would have discussed all this before selling...telling you the chances were slim and the cost was less due to extra neutering expenses..or agreed to split the cost etc... |
Thank u everyone for the info on my male yorkie, I love him dearly he is going to the vet next week, thank u so much for all ur help, GOD BLESS |
