PND? please help oes anyone know what PND stands for? |
In what context? Seems like more of a human med abbreviation. |
We have a hold an a maltese at a local animal shelter. We were now told she is in medical with PND. Weare not sure what this means and the shelter is closed. We are to pick her up tomorrow. |
Purely an assumption, but the closest seems to be post nasal drip. Also, if somebody was just reading handwriting and the D was really an O, could it be pneumonia... That's about all that makes sense. Not a common abbreviation in vet med that I know of. |
Thanks. that could be right O instead of D. That does make more sense. I have not been able to find anything else. |
Could mean 'Physical or neurological disability/disorder'. |
No clue. Never heard of it, but will be interested in hearing what it is. |
Did we find out what PND means?:D |
No I have not found out yet. Unfortunantly the little guy passed away at the vets office. He was very sick. My coordinator has been very busy and has not had time to fill me in as of yet. |

From what I can remember it had something to do with the heart & breathing on what it stands for. |
PND is not really an illness, but a description of a pattern of symptoms. The cause of these symptoms is a sudden build-up of fluid in the lungs. This is usually due to excessive strain on the left side of the heart and is a form of heart failure. Sorry this poor baby passed. |
Aw! So sorry...RIP Little One. |
They said it was post nasal drip.... But this baby was muchsicker than that. He did not even survive hours at the vets receivingtreatment. Apparently this is the 4th dog that has come out of Kern animalshelter in California in extremely poor condition that has died while receivingtreatment. The conditions of this shelter are absolutely horrible. |
