whats up with eating q-tips? my lil yorkie will grab a q-tip and eat it soo fast.... they pass through i know it dangerous but shes fast, who do they do this? |
Some dogs will eat whatever they find. The simple solution is to keep these things out of reach. :) |
Dogs are attracted to smells, and q-tips often have smells from human body parts such as ears. Hasn’t your yorkie ever gone for your ears? Some q-tips are safer than others, for example, those with a cardboard base are safer than a plastic body, and of course, make sure there is no substance on the q-tip like nail polish remover, which could prove deadly. Best choice is to place in a covered trash can as soon as you are finished with them. |

One of my girls would dig these out of the bathroom garbage, eeeww. I had to get elevate the trashcan so she couldn't get to them. |
I put my trash can in the bathtub because Max is attracted to the scent of dental floss. Otherwise, I keep the bathroom door shut. |

Princess loves Q-tips & cotton balls alike. She did ingest a couple cotton balls as a pup in a panic when I tried to get them but she'll drop them now. She just likes to shred them. My bathroom trashcan is on the back of the toilet & my teen daughter has to keep her bdrm door shut 24/7 since she uses them for make up & nails. This has cut down on her "discoveries" a lot. |
Lucy like to sniff out q-tips too. She basically likes to chew on them - but doesn't appear to like, eat the whole thing. She has slowed down on this a bit now that she is nearing two years old. Yay! |
My Leroy does the same thing! He loves them! |
