Diarrhea My little pup had the WORST diarrhea today, for about 5 hours on and off. He made a mess of his pee pads. For those of you who have read my previous threads, I live in Korea where its not abnormal to sell puppies that can't walk, seriously 3 weeks is "ok" here, even though they lie about the age. My little guy is about 5 weeks Im guessing (they said 10) only 2 teeth starting to come through. He is on soft food. I expected some diarrhea since it happened with Kimchi when we switched him off whatever they were feeding. Adding some solid kibbles in seemed to help. any other remedies that my provide some remedies Miso's stomach? I know for Kimchi it lasted about 3 days. Thank you! |
I'm sure you already know that diarrhea (particularly that much) in a five week old can very easily lead to death. There isn't anything that should be tried at home. He should go to the vet immediately. I'm not sure if that is possible or not, but it is what is needed. He is likely extremely dehydrated by now. You can try something at home like Pedialyte, bland diet, etc. but that isn't a replacement for veterinary care and it is absolutely not safe. I'm guessing things like parvo virus are a concern over there too just like here. |

Parvo is big here but dogs get distemper more often. The good news is that foreigner's dogs (americans, Germans) tend to be more healthy because our countries have a higher standard of care. |
