New Yorkie not peeing I adopted a 3 year old little girl from a great kennel. GREAT. Got all health certificates, little girl is wonderful. She is older so I expected adjustment, not something I haven't been thru before and we have enough love to get her through this. Only thing is she hasn't peed since we got her. Its been 24 hours now. Finally got her to eat today, good appetite, she drank a little. Scared to death to walk outside on a leash and she hasn't peed anywhere since I picked her up. Has anyone ever experienced this. Even walked her with my other Yorkie thinking this would encourage her. |
I am sorry but I do not have any experience with this. However, this does concern me. My only advice at this point would be to take her to the vet. Hopefully someone will be able to give you more advice. |
When I brought home my boys, they went a long time before they peed. However, 24 hours or more is not good. Are you sure she didn't squat and maybe you didn't catch it? Sometimes I can barely tell when Teddy is doing it outside in the grass. Are you sure she didn't do it in the house and you didn't find the spot? |
Are you sure she didn't go in the house? Is she straining. Did you take her to the vet for her "new to you exam" yet? I'd take her in the morning if she hasn;t gone (or tonight if she strains). |
My circumstance is a bit different since Lane was in the rescue's shelter after being part of a puppymill that was busted. She didn't pee for almost 24 hours after we got her and then she only made the tiniest spot on the carpet. She was so completely overwhelmed and had had little interaction with people at all at this point, and it took her a few days to really want to eat or drink, which naturally affected her potty schedule. |
