Jada has a new symptom:( I have two other threads going about my two throwing up. Jada is running, barking at the door and acting normal except for one thing. In the last hour or so,if she is on the floor and the best I can explain it she is in a position where she looks like she is praying, her rear end is up in the air and she has her head resting on her front paws. I know I have read this somewhere and I can't find it. No more throwing up and she has normal poops. Oh and my vet and his whole office are at a horse show tonight:( I can get in touch with my DIL or SIL who are both vet techs for him, but I hate to bother them because they are both showing horses tonight, but I will if I have to. |
That is sometimes called a play bow, but it can happen with stomach and back pain. I'd assume that she is having abdominal pain since she has vomited. How many times did she vomit? What did you do to treat it? |
Gosh Michelle, I wish knew somthing of this, but I don't. Just wanted to send good thoughts, well wishes and prayers to both Jada and Bogie. |

First guess is a gas bubble in the intestines. Second guess would just be generalized pain. Third guess is pancreatitis. For what that's worth... Has it stopped? |

I so wish I could just diagnose her for you and tell you to give xyz, but... :( I mean, if it's gas, Gas-x or Mylecon can be given, but I can't say to do that... Pain drugs can be used to keep her comfortable. Again, can't tell you what to use. :( If the bloating continues, an xray will be needed. i'd say call one of the techs, but they should not be directing you to give drugs either, so that may not do much good. Sometimes ER vets will give adivce over the phone. You could try that. On very rare occasions, small dogs actually get gastric GDV (true bloat). the symptoms would almost certainly be much worse than this. But because it's still theoretcially possible that she is bloating up, that's a slight concern. If it has continued, I'd just call the ER and see if they will advise. But please don't be toooo worried. |
M i am so sorry Jada is not feeling better today |

No, it is definitely not an emergency as long as it's getting better (or staying stable). If she is throwing up, trying to throw up and can't, looks "extremely" uncomfortable, etc., then that would indicate an emergency. I would call your vet if it hasn't stopped by 9 or 10 though. You can then get something in her to ease the pain. |
