Special Thoughts Needed for Levi, Please I noticed a bump on Levi's left front leg a few days ago. I have kept an eye on it the past few days to see if it would shrink on its own, but there has been no change at all. It is not shrinking, but it is also not growing or changing in any way. It does not seem to bother Levi; I don't think he realizes it is there until I am checking its progress. I felt that something wasn't right, so we went to the vet this morning. The vet says that the bump is a tumor that will most likely need to be surgically removed. She gave us a steroid to try for this next week, to see if it will begin shrinking. If not, looks like my little man will be having surgery within the next few weeks. After surgery, the tumor would be sent to a pathology lab for testing. Please keep my sweet Levi in your thoughts. Hopefully the tumor is benign. Hopefully it will shrink using steroids and my little boy won't need anesthesia and surgery. He acts completely unaffected and is running around and barking and playing and eating like everything is normal - while I am worried sick! We go back to the vet in exactly a week (next Friday) unless the tumor grows at all, in which case we'll be going in for an emergency visit. I feel so bad for my little boy! I hate for him to be sick. |
I'm sorry to hear this. I'm praying that the steroids will work for Levi. Sending good thoughts, hugs and prayers to you both. |
SOOOO very sorry to hear this- I will be keeping Levi in my thoughts. |
I am sorry to hear about Levi. I will keep positive thoughts that it will shrink and he will not need surgery. |
I am sorry to hear about Levi. I am keeping him in my prayers that the steroids shrink the tumor and no surgery will be needed. |
Thanks for all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. We are trying to stay positive! |
I will pray that the steroids work!! It is so stressful when our little guys and gals are sick. :( |
Sorry, to hear this new. Praying all will be well with little Levi. Sending hugs & kisses to the little guy. |
Just an update. I haven't noticed any real improvement, unfortunately. The tumor is definitely still there and not shrinking. Levi very much dislikes wearing a bandage on his leg all day. We had to cut all of his hair off his leg...which led me to cut off all of his hair. He just looked too funny with one bald leg and three hairy ones. :) Broke my heart, but he's now stylin' a short summer cut. He is in such good spirits. Looks like we are back at the vet on Friday to make a Plan B. I'm still hoping the steroid will kick in over the next few days. If not, then we'll do what the vet recommends next. Thanks for all of the well wishes. Levi and I appreciate them so much. |
Sending positive thoughts and prayers for Levi. |
I am so sorry. I'll be praying for Levi. |
We will keep little Levi in our prayers! I think I remember apang29's little rescue Tiny had a growth on a limb that went down in size. I am not sure what, if anything, she applied. She might be able to give you some help(?). |
I'm sorry about Levi. Sending prayers that he will be ok. |
Sending prayers out for Levi. |
Sending prayers for Levi's tumor to shrink and to be benign. I hope the appointment goes well on Friday. Hugs to you Katy I know this is much harder for you. Best wishes. |
