I'm at the vet as I type, he is a dehydration and he seems stressed from the move...he getting tested right now...so I'm waiting for more results . He weights 1 pound and 15 ounces....I will post pics later so u guys can see my lil man yoshi |
So glad you took him to the vet... dehydration is very serious and can be deadly. Also, anytime you're not sure of how he's doing, he should see the vet as he is so young. When you get home, find the number of an ER vet (24 hour) and keep it near your phone just in case. It will save precious time if you should ever need it. |

Will look forward to his pics. :) |
I'm so glad you got him to the vet for treatment. These little ones can go down so quickly, and it is sad when people don't take it seriously and just sit and wait to see if they get better. Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Looking forward to hearing more about your little guy when he is stable. |
i got back and the vet said all the blood work came out negative . Also the other test they did came out negative too.. so i dont know why he is acting like this. Is breaking my heart... sigh...guysss im sadd |
Has he stopped throwing up? Since the vet has ruled out some of the possible serious illnesses, you will just have to watch him now. It is possible that he is stressed out from the move, and he is still pretty young to be taken away from the mother. Puppies do sleep a lot. Just make sure he's eating and getting water. Keep us posted, ok? |

Did you get the vet records from the previous owner? It is possible he was just vaccinated. Look that up. Also if you don't have the records get them! Also look at the recommended vaccination protocol in the YT library |

Make sure he is getting fluids, you can put some karo syrup in his water. If he is not drinking on his own, you will need to syringe water to him every couple of hours. Your breeder should instruct you in how to care for him. |
Did the vet re hydrate him? Keep him for observation? I know that whenever my 2 dogs become ill my vet always wants to keep them for observation , at least 3 hours. My Suzi had the vomiting and diareah one time , so the vet checked and ran a parvo test, it was not parvo. He kept her for several hours too. Thankfully she got over it fairly quickly. But Suzi was not a tiny puppy either. Your puppy can easily go downhill fast. You have to really watch the water intake . I agree , with the poster who suggested getting the number to the ER vet , keeping it close to the phone. I hope your baby is ok and feels better. |
Glad you took him in.. Keep us posted. Did the vet give you ideas of what you should do? |
Praying your baby will be ok, he is very young and small. My 4 were at least 12 weeks old when I brought them home. |
Please keep us updated. I'm glad you are taking him to the vet. When I first brought Rylee Belle home she slept quite a bit also and every so often would throw up. I took her to the vet and she had a couple of "issues" but she was fine in a couple of days. I do think they get stressed when they are taken away from their mom. I remember how scared I was................I feel for you! I'm sure he will be okay, probably just adjusting! |
Try wet food, puppy plate by merrik is pretty good. I put puppy gold (a milk substitute) and wet food ... my little guy laps it up. I just got mine a couple days ago. |
Saying prayers for your little one; he is so young and tiny that he will need special care from you. I hope they can figure out what he causing his illness and lethargy. |
Well, i dont know what to say. he still wont eat. i have been giving him food every 2 hours. just few minutes ago he puked about 3 times, no color in his vomit just looked like a lot of saliva. i am to the point were i feel like giving up, this breaks my heart. I am debating whether to take him back to the place i bought him... He is my first puppy and this exp hasn't been fun at all!!!!! |
