My Buddy is sick and I don't know why! I woke up at 4:30 this morning to Buddy vomiting in his crate. Not to be TMI, but it was very mucousy and not much food in it. I took him out, cleaned it up, walked him and put in back in (since it wasn't even 5 am yet!) About 30 mins later, he did it again. This time no food in it at all. So, I cleaned up the crate but didn't put him back in. I gave him some water (big mistake) and he vomited again but it was all water. What could be wrong? He's been very active and healthy . . . almost 9 months old and not a single problem!:( |
Is there any chance he could have ate something earlier yesterday? When Princess was about his age she chewed some oil pastels, though they all looked accounted for when I found them. It wasn't until maybe 10-12 hours later that she started vomiting, 5 times in one hour. She finally went to sleep & the next day had a colorful poop. |
Although I have told my hubby NOT to give him table food, I sometimes catch him doing it. Buddy loves it, of course! Hubby and the kids were home with him until I got home around 10 p.m. My kids would never feed him anything but, like I said, DH is a different story! He is now lying down on a clean towel in the kitchen (he is still gated in the kitchen because he has started to mark his territory . . . want to get him neutered but since he has only one descended testicle, I've got to save up a bit before doing that!). He's acting fine, not lying flat or lethargic. His gums are nice and pink, nose is nice and cold. I guess we'll ride it out awhile and see if he improves. |
Hi and Welcome to YT! Sometimes if they have an early dinner and no snack before bed they will vomit yellow or brown bile first thing in the morning. Usually giving a snack before bedtime will prevent this, or increase his dinner a bit. |
Well, it's now almost 8 hours since he first got sick. I feel bad because he seems thirsty but when he drinks too much he gets sick again. I'm just giving him a little at a time. I had to go to school this morning and he seems a little more like himself now that I'm home. No signs that he was sick while I was gone, either. |
That is good to do. Do the same when you start to feed him, small amounts only till he gets to where he 's not too glutonnous and gradually increase the amounts. If he vomits anymore, I would have the Vet take a look at him. |
