allergy, maybe scotch gaurd? Hello! I'm new to the forum and hope someone might have insight. I have a 4 year old female Yorkie named Valley, (My Valentine's Day Gift from my husband, best gift ever!) She's very uncomfortable tonight. I've noticed small tufts of hair on the carpet the past few days, and she is scratching a lot. I gave her a bath with sensodyne doggie shampoo this morning, but she doesn't seem to be improving. She has a red rash on her tummy, no sign of fleas. Could this be our new sofa? We had it scotch guarded and my family hates the fumes and have been putting blankets on the sofa cushions. Has anyone heard of this? I'm very appreciative for suggestions. I hate that she's uncomfortable. Lori Fortwendel |
Hi. Welcome to YT. I have never heard of an allergy to scotch guard but I would imagine it is possible. I would take her to the vet. She may need a little prednisone to help her if this is an allergic reaction. I would watch her for facial swelling, tongue swelling - which necessitates immediate trip to vet (even if at night to ER vet). I would take her to vet and not wait to see how it goes. |
