Last friday our three year old miniture yorkie got out of the house when the house cleaner had left the door open. Laci michelle was hit by a car but not ran over by the tire. The driver of the car took her to the vet right away. There were no broken bones but she has a cut above here eye and abrasions on her head. Nerve testing was done and everything tested ok. Laci gets around well but at this time slow, understandable. What concerns me is Laci seems very distant at times, sad, it is like she is afraid even when we try to pick her up, little noises scare her like she was a abused dog. She has a concussion and is on some medication for her injuries. Any input will be very helpful as we want to make sure that she does not need something to help her overcome her fear and sadness. I lost my daughter to a car accident we wont lose laci

I am so sorry for what you are going through. For now your baby needs love and quiet. If she has a consussion,then she has one heck of a headache. I know that when one of my dogs was injured,he cried for 2days,not out of pain but because he just did not understand what was going on.
You must be terrified as well and she is going to sense some of this.
I pray that time and patience will help heal her fears and her little body.

I am so sorry about the accident and hope Laci returns to normal very soon. It must be traumatizing, and she needs rest and reassurance for a while.

I'm so sorry your little Laci is going through this, poor baby. I sure she needs time to feel secure again...can't imagine how tramatic for her that must have been. She will get back normal with you love and understanding.

My little girl was hit by a car last Monday. She has a badly broken leg and a lacerated liver. She has had her surgeries and is home now, but she is very quiet as well. Just give her time, she will come around. Just let hr know how much you love hr and cuddle her when she lets you. Patiene will pay off

I am so sorry little Laci and your family are going through this. I agree with the other post that Laci probably has a bad headache from the concussion (humans usually have one for days and then they continue on and off for a while). She also is probably very sore. Her whole body probably hurts, which would make her afraid of being handled.

I'm also sorry to hear about your daughter. This has to be painful for you going through this with "another child" and watching her pain. Our thoughts and prayers are w you.

OH.. I am so sorry for you and your furchild. This has to bring some strong emotions and pain for you with having the second time someone you love hit by a car!! I send hope and prayers it will get better with time.

I would say your little one is afraid, I would be. Extra love, keep a close eye and talk to the vet. I hope all is well soon.

I am so sorry that happened to your baby, but, thank goodness she lived through it. Like everyone says, she probably just needs quiet time and can you imagine how scared the little thing was. It will certainly be a bad memory, bless her little heart. My son had a cat when he was growing up that started across the street just as a truck was coming. He just kinda rolled in under it but was never actually hit. He was traumitzed for a long time. After that he would never cross the street, so it has to be really bad on them. Hope she feels better soon and she will, it will just take time. I am just so glad she lived.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your daughter. I will keep Laci in my prayers. I can imagine she is still in pain and scared from the trauma. These little ones bounce back so given a little time hopefully she will be back to her self.

My Oliver got cut quite badly about three summers ago. All he wanted to do was sit quietly in my lap or be held. I went so far as to make a sling out of an old bed sheet and I ended up with him in his sling for the next three days. I think when they're hurt they just want to be close to "their human" and feel safe.

Good luck with Laci Michelle. I'm sure she'll come around in a little while.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter. As a mom, I can't even begin to imagine how you survive something like that.

We all have our fingers and paws crossed for Laci. I'm sure she will come around with alot of love and hugs but you have to be patient because she me be in pain and going trhough a trauma. Sorry to hear about your daughter.
