hellllllppppppp Hi there I hope someone can help. My baby girl Clair is 13weeks old and she started to vomit a little and her stool is A white slimy water substance. any help? I don't have the money to take her to the vet Thanx Darlene South Africa |
A 13 week old that is vomiting and have loose stool will most certainly dehydrate and get very sick in no time- she NEEDS to see a vet. She is so young, you couldn't have gotten her very long ago, why take on a puppy if you don't have the money to support it? |

I'm praying she's feeling all better soon. |
White slimy poo isnt normal she really needs to see a vet. There isnt any advice we can give that will correct that |
Ok let me tell u the full story. I appreciate all the comments. I got her as a present. I was told to give her soft maize meal mixed with a spoon or 2 dog food in a tin. U know the meaty ones. So this past weekend I went to visit my mom and I took Clair along. My mom didn't have the tin food so I was also told when I got her I can give her cat food soaked in boiling water. So I did. She ate it After that her tummy was hard. On the papers I got with her it says that if she has a runny or hard tummy I can give her 1ml of tummy meds used for humans. So last night I gave her a half ml of my daughters meds and her tummy came loose. Her stool was about 5times last night. All brown. Soft but not runny. So this afternoon she started with the white slimy stool. She is eating a lil bit at a time and is taking a sip of water Every now and then. She is also occasionally playing with my other doggy. Any help on this info?? I will call a vet aswell thanx Darlene |
Darlene, you will soon find out that when posting a serious issue on this forum you are going to be instructed to take the puppy to the vet; however, I do understand your situation. The special diet they told you to give the puppy sounds a little odd to me. It's as almost as if they knew there were digestive issues. At any rate, it's your situation now and I'm sure you'll do the best that you can. But, I'm not quite so sure that canned cat and dog food is the best thing to feed. I'm no expert by any means, but I have managed to raise 4, only with a lot of help from this forum and others! Try this: boil a little chicken breast and making it mushy, putting a little broth on it. White meat is less greasy than dark. That dog and cat food you are feeding is going to cause stomach upsets, and will give runny stools. Anything like that from a can is probably not the best thing to do for your little baby, mine can't eat canned food at all. I think you should change his diet immediately. Have you spoken to a vet? Please post what the vet told you. Best of luck to you, and keep us posted. |
I wouldnt have given cat food its not good for dogs. Also I wouldnt have given meds for a human without a vet okay. I still think you need to contact a vet, white slimy stool is alarming |
In regard to my post above: My post does not by any means you don't need to see or phone your vet immediately. I am merely stating that the dog and/or cat food is compounding your problem. |
I hope your baby is doing better. You really can't afford not to take her to the vet. For the cost of a vet visit you could lose your puppy. Having had yorkies for 40 years, when they are sick, especially a new puppy, they can go down so fast. Is it possible to borrow the money or make arrangements with the vet? I know it is hard when money is short but this is an emergency. |
Welcome, have you called the breeder? Maybe you could get her to help you with the vet. Please get some good puppy food for this baby, cat food is not good and changing this babies diet so much will make her tummy very upset. Puppies do not handle fast food changes well. Get some nutri-cal and get this puppy seen by a vet soon. Please call the breeder or a vet ASAP. |
AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH why does this stuff keep happening?? |

I've seen slimy stool from a sick dog before, but never white, that's probably mucus for some reason. Vet ASAP and please let us know how she is |
All I keep thinking about is that your puppy may have worms. Tape worms are white> They will suck out any nutrients in your pup even though the pup is eating will become very thin/anorexia, if not treated right away. Please try very hard to come up with the funds to take in your very yound puppy to the vet. Human meds, and cat food are not ok to administer , unless under the care of a Vet. However, no vet will suggest cat food. Or even human meds. This all could be aggravating her illness. Since yorkie puppies are so small they can dehydrate very quickly. Again, try to come up with the money to take your new baby to the vet. I am certain if you had a human baby, the baby would be going to the DR. ASAP. Just like a human baby , a Yorkie puppy needs to same medical treatment when ill. This could save your puppy's life. I am a bit scared for your puppy right now. |
Poor thing.. I agree, keep her hydrated andmaybe try to use some nitrucal on her gums until the vet calls you back or can see her. Joy of owning a dog is they can be expensive. Especially a sick and young Yorkie pup. Keep us updated. |
