Sick Dog My puppy has BAD diahrea like almost all liquid. Does anyone know of anything I can give him to help?? My vet told me to stop the treats and see if that helps, but I am looking for other ideas. Thanks for your help. |
You can boil chicken and white rice and cut it up really fine and give it him to see if it settles his stomach. When mine get that, my vets advises to take them off food and give very little water for 24 hrs. and then give the boiled chicken and white rice. I wouldn't do that for a tiny pup though. |
No this is for my pug/ jack russell, he is about 16lbs. Thank you for the help. |
I fits like liquid the vet really should see him he could dehydrate. If its a bigger dog they usually have you fast them for a short time to get rid of the diahrea. |

Then I think he would be fine to be taken off of food and water for 24 hours and then do the boiled chicken and rice. :) |

Thank you for your help!!! |
Yes Give him some boiled white rice with cut up chicken in it and I would also give him some Pedialyte Liquid Unflavored. It will Quickly restores fluid and minerals lost in diarrhea and vomiting... |
If it's really bad ...watch for dehydration and make a vet appointment asap - but you got great advise here...Good luck |
My Lexi had a bad case a few months ago. Litteraly water came out of her when she was just standing there. My vet said I could give her pedialyte (like human babies get) to fight dehydration and I could give her 1/4 of 1/4 of an imodium tablet. Lexi is just under 6lbs. The tablet was the size of a straight pin head. |
