There is pork in those two SD formulas and it did not work for Izzy and a few other Yorkies I know. That's why it's sometimes a crap shoot in the beginning of diagnosis and trial and error with foods to find the right combo that works for your dog. When I was researching on YT I saw many diets on here that worked for some and not others.
Almost lost Izzy 3x during that 8 months and based on what she is eating now after trying the Science Diet ID/WD which put her both in emergency after eating...now she has been doing great for 2 years so I must be doing something right. | I am not here to argue either. I am stating facts. The food is not Pork Science Diet as you called it and I am concerned when others might think there is something wrong with a food when there is not.
I am happy that your pup is fine. That was not what I was addressing.
That food, while you say it put your pup in the hospital because of it, works fine for many, many pups. I just wanted that to be clear.
We all have different opinions. I don't consider myself an expert on reading labels and rely on vet nutritionists when I am in doubt. I have seen two who highly recommend Hill's Prescription Diets for pups. Certainly there is a once in a great while pup that may not respond to a certain diet.
I also have had experience with pancreatitis in yorkies. :) I was merely stating MY opinion....if you wish to consider that an argument, I honestly don't know what to say. |
