Lucy has been drooling a lot. help!! Lucy is 9 months old and this has never happened to her before, I'm so worried. Two days ago she woke up with her mouth all wet, it felt like drool a thick clear drool, I got worried, but figured I would keep and eye on her and see if it would get worst, she was acting fine all day, she ate, drank water, was playing with her toys and running around the house chasing me, so I figured she was fine. However the drooling would start again whenever she would take a nap, and at one point she threw up a little. The next day she was fine, she woke up all dry and didn't puke again, however today she woke up wet, once again it happens when she sleeps, but she is still acting normal playing, eating, drinking etc.... I dont know what to do, is there a need for me to rush her to the vet, or is this normal ? I've never had this happen to any of my dogs before and she is my first yorkie. Please if anyone knows what to do help me, Thank You! |
My first two thoughts would be nausea or a tooth issue. If neither, then it could be something more systemic. Nothing I'd be rushing to the ER for, but your pup does need to be seen very soon. |
could be some kind of allergic reaction to something also I would be taking her to the vet and getting her checked out. My Lexi got bite by a bee and did the same thing but it did not go away and she ended up having two shots and also i had go give her benadryl. I would not mess with it. |
Ziva's mouth was wet and drooly one day, I couldn't figure out what it was, By the time my son got home from school it was getting better- She went to eat and refused... My son opened her mouth and with a flashlight started looking around in there- she had bitten thru a toy and the plastic was molded and wrapped around her molar! Took a little bit of struggle to remove it. She was so relieved! |

Also, has she had any retained baby teeth removed? I would have the vet give a check-up. |
If nothing obvious id found to be the cause, bloodwork may be necessary, and it wouldn't hurt to get a Bile Acid Test done too, if she hasn't had one done yet. |
