Do yorkie's get belly aches? Hey everyone. I hate that I always only post here when my little one isn't feeling well :( Today was rough for my Winston. He got attacked by a dog this afternoon which was extremely scary (he's totally ok, no broken skin, just a bit shooken up) but now he's not feeling well which worries me. He's walking around with his butt down... his tummy was making growling / gurgling noises. I took him for a walk to see if he had to go #2, and he tried but I'm not 100% sure what came out as it was dark. On the way home, he stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and sat down. Now he's fidgeting a lot, can't get comfortable. (he did just eat and drink some water though) I don't know if this is serious go to the vet kinda stuff? Or he has a belly ache or gas or something and possibly just is having indigestion or something? Poor guy :( he's just SO uncomfortable! Any thoughts? |
Can you call an ER vet? I think it is possible for them to have tummy aches. I gave Kaji a piece of doggy cake once, which he devoured. Half way through he looked at the cake, and then looked at me then he fell to his side. He was just SO FULL. I know he had a tummy ache that night. Poor thing. I should have cut it for him. |
you said that he was attacked by another dog but no broken skin. What exactly did happen. Did the other dog pick him up and shake him? How rough was he treated? Could be he's sore from that or could even have some internal injuries. Did you take him to a vet after the other dog attacked him? |
Yes, they can get belly aches. They can also have serious inernal injuries after being attacked (although the way to internal bleeding). Being attacked = a vet visit. Being attacked and having symptoms = going immediately. |
Poor Winston. I would have the vet take a look just to make sure that he's OK from the dog attack. Maybe that's why his tummy is upset. Hope everything is OK. |

Please, please take Winston to the vet asap! He could very likely have internal injuries from the attack. A dark, tarry stool is a sign of internal bleeding. |
Please take him to a vet! |
Keeping little Winston in my prayers.... hope you were able to have him seen by a vet and that he's on the road to recovery.... Hugs... |
